Looking at the bookings for Grand Floridian and there are two options.

* GARDEN VIEW ROOM
* LAGOON VIEW ROOM

Will one of these choices guarentee views of the castle or is that something different?

I would suggest that you ask for a Lagoon view with a Mk view when booking. And I would call approx. 1month - 2 weeks ahead of time and reiterate your request. I would also call 24 hrs. in advance again for this request, just to keep on top of it.

Yes, the Lagoon view is more expensive, but not by much.

For Value season the price for a Garden view at the GF is $329 a night. (plus11% tax)
A Lagoon view is $390.00 per night. (plus tax)
These prices are without any discount.

You are not guarenteed a view of the MK, you must ask for it. It will be entered into the computers when making your reservation. And like I said before, reiterate this when you call again to make sure they have it in there. I have had instances when they did not have certain info added to a reservation for a clients room. If you need any help making your reservation, please do not hesitate to ask.

Have a great day!

Unfortunately, when booking via Virgin Holidays (which is the ONLY way that I will EVER book by vacations... :) ), you can't get that specific.

And Yes, the Lagoon view is about 10% more than the Garden view on the Virgin bookings at least.

Thanks for the input. :)

Catch 22, I want to thank you for making me join the WDWMAGIC.COM Forums. I have been looking at this website for about a year now and was never sure about registering. I have now joined because I do not want you to waste your money. In 1998 my family stayed at the Grand Floridian with the lagoon view and a "supposed" view of the Magic Kingdom. Once in our room, I rushed to the balcony to see the castle, but to my and my family's dismay, the trees were overgrown, and I had to lean over the railling to see the castle. We were not the only ones to have this problem. My mother's sister had exactly the same view as us, and in her brother's room, you could see the castle but the view was ubstructed by so many trees. Save your money! There are plenty of places to view the lagoon and the Magic Kingdom from the hotel (except in the rooms)!

Did you already make a reservation? When in 2003 are you planning on going? You can PM or e-mail me if you need any help with your reservation.
