Hello All. I am looking for a good spot, nothing fancy like a signature near MK where I can feel comfortable Solo, early dinner say around 5PM, eat and then take the monorail back over to MK for evening EMH's. I am thinking GFC or Kona. I have been to Kona for breakfast and it was great. I was also there for dinner and was not as impressed. Grand Floridian Cafe is also nice for breakfast, however I have not been their for dinner. I already have an ADR for dinner for Grand Floridian, but wanted to get your thoughts, and menu suggestions for dinner. Everyone here's to magical thoughs!!!!!

Sorry I cannot speak for Kona, but I can definitely recommend GFC. We have been there twice and have enjoyed both meals. The NY strip steaks are great and Snapper was good too. Hope this helps.

+1 for the GF. Ask for Steve as your server. Just ate there twice last week. Kona is a great breakfast place but GF does dinner better I think. I'd also say, with some guidance from Steve, that the shrimp pasta is pretty much the best entree on the menu with the steak second. Have to agree. And if you want to splurge, try the shrimp cocktail. Comes on a bed of finely diced tomato with horseradish and a mint olive oil garnish. Really different but really tasty. That and a salad and bread makes a meal in itself.

My vote goes to Kona, the chicken wing appetizer is amazing, though I will admit last time I was there my meal wasn't as good as it used to be. (Though this is because they used to have prime rib and now they don't so I got a regular sirloin :ROFLOL: )But I would still choose Kona and get the chicken wing appetizer and dessert.

I have eaten at both the Grand Floridian Café and the Kona Café solo on business trips to the Orlando area I enjoyed each. I would give the slightest nod to the Kona Café as I enjoyed the Polynesian BBQ Ribs appetizer, teriyaki NY sirloin strip and pineapple upside down cake just a little more than the salad with apples and walnuts, sirloin steak and Boston crème pie.

I don’t if this helps but it made me hungry.

Kona always gets my vote. It's my favorite place. I'm missing it right now - I haven't been there on the last few trips. DH always pushes for Ohana, and I've let him win the last 2 years. Next trip it's back to Kona for our Polynesian night.

Have not done Kona for dinner but did do dinner at GFC last spring and it was absolutely fantastic. It was Easter Sunday but the place was quiet and the service was fantastic. Not to mention the food which was absolutely wonderful.
