Grand Californian Question

We are planning a trip to Aulani, HI in January, with a stop in California on the way back.

We have enough points for 1 of our 3 nights in a 2 BR villa in the GC, but we were asking about a cash price for the remaining 2 nights. We know we'll get 30% off but we're trying to find out how high the cash price typically is for the GC 2 BR villas.

We're going to be there 1/3-1/6/11. The people at the DVC phone line say that there is no current cash availability and they can't give us a price but they expect that there will be some available in the future.

We're considering a Good Neighbor Hotel instead and saving our points for another trip but we want to keep our options open.

Anyone have any idea of the approximate cash price for a nonweekend night in a 2 BR villa in the Grand Californian? I appreciate any help! Thanks.

I think it's around $1100 per night.

Wow! Haha wasn't expecting quite that much.

We had enough points to book it but we had to upgrade to a more points expensive view in Aulani because the lowest points views are all booked up.

Guess it's probably going to be a Good Neighbor Hotel in CA for us!

You could always buy transfer points or rent points. That would cost less than $1100/night. Just a thought.

There are only 46 Two Bedroom villas in the Grand Californian...and that includes rooms which are booked separately as a Studio + 1B. Last I heard Disney was not offering any of the villas at cash prices due to low inventory and high demand.
