"Grad Nite will return to Disney California Adventure in 2022 after coronavirus concerns forced the Anaheim theme park to cancel back-to-back years of the graduation celebrations that have been an annual high school senior tradition for decades.

Grad Nite 2022 celebrations will take place on 16 dates in May and June at Disney California Adventure.

Grad Nite 2020 was canceled while Disneyland and Disney California Adventure were closed under state-mandated COVID-19 restriction. Grad Nite 2021 was also canceled after Disneyland and DCA reopened but remained under California’s COVID-19 capacity restrictions.

“When we missed sharing the Disneyland resort Grad Nite experience with the classes of 2020 and 2021, we were determined to bring back the experience soon to the many future graduates who were looking forward to celebrating at the Disneyland resort,” according to Disney Youth Programs.

Grad Nite 2022 will take place on May 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, 25, 26 and 31 and June 1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 17. The dates fall on Tuesday through Saturday nights.

Grad Nite celebrations will take place from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. at DCA with meet-and-greet photo ops with Disney characters dressed in graduation gear and themed food and drinks.

The three ticket options include the Grad Nite private party experience ($89) with access to DCA starting at 9 p.m., all-day DCA admission ($119) that includes the Grad Nite party or a parkhopper option ($179) with admission to both parks and the after-hours party."

I think they've been doing it like that for a few years now. It really is lame.
Works for me as I dont own a magical key and plan on visiting once a year for Disneyland only.

No sense of romanticism or history to ditch Disneyland for California Adventure. Theres more fun stuff for the teens at Disneyland.

Also, what a crappy grad nite to be in the add on themepark and not the classic Disneyland.
I think some of the appeal for DCA over Disneyland is it's a smaller park with less nooks and crannies, so easier to corral people where you want them. I remember they used the WoC infrastructure for a neat little graduation show too that capped the night at 2am.

Great dates to avoid this year! I really enjoyed my Grad Nite but in hindsight I'm sure we were annoying as hell.

I imagine that most 17 year olds have been annoying as hell since ancient Rome. Especially in large groups.

That said, I'm thrilled to see this old classic return. The way we have treated America's youth with ongoing school closures and lockdowns and cancellations of sports and extra-curriculars and activities is criminal. We've stunted an entire generation, and those are the ones in the suburbs who could afford a tutor or non-school club events. The kids in poorer neighborhoods were just left at home to rot for two years, and they're not just stunted but nearly destroyed.

Getting America's youth back to normal ASAP is critical to the culture and society. Even if they are annoying. :D

To your point, I didn't even go to my own Grad Night in high school for that very reason and had to be dragged kicking and screaming to my graduation (which was outside, in the pouring rain during a lightening and Thunder Storm and the middle of the flooded football field). I would have never gone to a Grad Nite, not even at Disneyland, with the monsters I went to school with. Although I did get to go to Disneyland as a graduation present.
