We have never been there. What's transportation to the parks like? Any "don't miss" areas? Eating at Artist point one night, and probably going to spend most of the time at a water park and magic kingdom (it will be the bookend of a 7 night stay).
Thanks in advance

Gee, I love the WL. I could just chill for days in the lobby with the laptop open so I can answer work emails and a good book. Boats to MK and buses to the rest. Never really had much of a wait for either. Have taken the boat to CR just to ride the Monorail into MK too. Haven't ever eaten at Artist Point. What I wanted to do was order the cheese fondue with a bottle of wine from Territory Lounge and kick back one evening but Jim wanted a sandwich so we just ate qs from Roaring Forks. Whispering Canyon is okay. Lots of meat and good service. I heard they were closing the main pool later this year for a refurb. There's suppose to be a quiet pool over at the DVC side and an awesome train display there too. Enjoy your stay!

The WL is lovely! You will enjoy every minute of your stay. You can take a boat to the Magic Kingdom or to the Contemporary Resort to access the monorail and other monorail resorts. You will take a bus to the other parks and also the MK if you choose. The boat ride back to The WL in the evening is especially nice and cozy depending on the time of year. We only had the typical issues with bus transportation...you know....you get there and the bus to your destination has just left. But that can happen anywhere. You will enjoy Artist Point....excellent service and food. You will find Roaring Forks ( the CS restaurant) small and slow. Guests mulling around and can't seem to be able to decide what to eat. And when I was there is September, the CM cashiers were especially slow.....not sure what is a snack, a meal with the DDP. I am not a fan of Whispering Canyons but many people love it. Again....not sure when you are going but I know that the pool will be closed for refurbishment from sometime in September to November....maybe someone else knows exactly when. Enjoy your trip and I hope it is Magical! :cat:

@Tinkerbell397 exactly what you said about Roaring Forks....slowest moving qs of all the deluxes. Food decent but the cashiers have one speed and it ain't quick or fast. I'm ready for that chocolate martini now!

We like Wilderness Lodge so much we skip park days just to hang out there. Hidden Springs Pool at the villas is my favorite spot in all of WDW. Love the boat transportation and never really had any long waits for busses either. We prefer WCC to Artist Point. The salmon was good, the buffalo steak a bit tough.
