Goodbye, Wave Goodbye?

I'm curious - in another thread, "About the Living Seas Ride," someone mentioned the cessation of the "Goodbye wave" at Epcot. Has anyone confirmed this?

Don't know why - it was just mentioned and kind of buried in another thread, that's why I figured I'd find out. Like you, I enjoy that final personal touch in my favourite park.

I sorta hope they did end the good bye wave, or at least moved it. I've always enjoyed watching the Fountain of Nations running late after Reflections of Earth while my wife was in MouseGear shopping. I was rather disappointed when it was not running after the fireworks during my visit earlier this spring.

For a park like EPCOT with different cast members around the world, I thought the wave was perfect, and it was this type of thing that makes it "Disney." I will miss it.

Still waving as of last week... I really hope this doesn't end- as others have said, it gives a very 'human' and personal touch to the end of the night... I enjoy it, though I must admit I too love watching the fountain at night.

what is the goodbye wave at epcot?

is it just what it sounds like, CMs waving goodbye?
Spot on - after Illuminations as you file out towards the main entrance, there are a group of CMs from assorted attractions and World Showcase countries gathered at both sides of the fountain, sporting Mickey hands and waving goodbye to everyone.

Most CM's hated doing the "wave goodbye" I used to enjoy it. I got to stay later $$$ and usually had a good time doing it. On my last day, I brought my camera in and was taking pictures. I took a picture of the swarm of guests leaving EPCOT, they all were smiling and saying Cheese. It was a good picture, I just cant seem to find it.

It is a great personal touch and a great way to end the day. It is that little something extra that makes Disney...Disney.
...btw, sir90210, love your avatar. My fingers are crossed for 2012.

I always spot our waiter and waitress from WS at the fountain, and we typically take a picture of them there waving. Its such a nice touch, and it just makes everyone smile.
