Good Time to visit DisneyLand

Hello, I am thinking about going to Disneyland next year for the 50th Anniversary. I have never been there, but I figured it would be a good time to because of the celebration. Does anyone have an idea of when a good time of the year would be to visit. I have been to WDW 4 times, and have been dying to get to Disneyland! Thanks for the suggestions!

This is just a suggestion, but I think anytime in November is great because of
a) Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion Holiday is open (a must see)
b) It's a Small World Holiday overlay will be open
c) 50th stuff still up
d) Christmas decoration are up
e) not such huge crowds

Thanks! We were looking at somewhere possibly between Sept-Nov. I was at WDW last September for 2 weeks and it was awesome...hardly no crowds, no lines, and so many characters were out (I got my pic something like 96 different characters). I then went in December the week of Christmas and New Year's...stayed off property and it wasn't all that great. AK, MGM, & Epcot were OK, but Magic Kingdom was a nightmare. I have never been to California before at all, so I was kinda basing the trip off my last 3 trips to WDW (October, September, & December)

Just to let you know - September is STILL pretty darn busy around here in California. And HOT! That's when we hit our real heat waves out here. November is great, but I would actually suggest the first week in December if you can swing it. No crowds, all the christmas stuff Stranger mentioned!

Myself and my family are also thinking about DIsneyland next year, we were thingking end of September/October time. What do people think about that, what will the crowd levels be like?

October would probably be ok. We were there for Halloween in 2002 and the crowds weren't bad. Disneyland is always pretty busy though no matter when you go. I would probably suggest the first part of December though because for sure Space Mountain will be open then and Christmas decorations are great at Disneyland. Anytime you go will be great and you'll have a wonderful time.
