Good soup, smelly hands

My friends and I play cards every Thursday night and since it was Halloween, we made food. I decided to make the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from Le Cellier and the onion I used was incredibly potent. While I was chopping the sucker I could tell it was overly juicy but I was running late and didn't give it a second thought.
Now, I am sitting at work and I am just now smelling this onion again. I have probably washed my hands 10 times since I made the soup and I have taken a shower and the smell is still there. What gets out potent onion smell from your hands?

Rub your hands on something stainless steel for about a minute and then wash them again. It's probably hard at work (maybe a water fountain or a metal spoon?) but supposedly it does work.

Sometimes washing your hands with baking soda.

The stainless steel idea did not work very well for me. Lemons did work, though. Now to get the lemon smell off my hands :) Just Kidding! Thanks, guys!

By the way, If you do not have delicate hands, you can also use these liquid soap solutions made to clean dishes (lemon scent specially) like the "Salvo" brand... http://i.imgur.com/cT3LGzM.jpg
while the chemical is pretty strong and can irritate the skin, it can remove almost all the smells from your hands easily.
