Good quick service places at the resorts

My daughter (16) and I are going in November and decided to stick with the free, quick service plan that is offered with the package instead of upgrading. Our plan, this time, is to do some resort hopping and some other things we have never done before.

So my question is, where are some good quick service restaurants/kiosks at the resorts. I figure we will go resort hopping mid-day around lunch time and I really don't know much about QS meals at any resorts. (except the value resorts)

Any ideas or suggestions?

Each resort pretty much has one QS location. The most unique is probably The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge. The most diverse options would probably be found at Landscape of Flavors at DAAR. The monorail loop has solid choices at the Grand, Poly, and Contemporary.

Note that you're not going to find anything mind-blowing compared to what's offered at the parks.

Thank you for the suggestions.
We will definitely be eating at DTD for some our meals, I agree the options there are very good. Earl of sandwich is a favorite for us. :hungry:
I was just hoping to get some ideas about resort places.
How about Wilderness lodge or Boardwalk?

I do, but it's a tremendous waste of a dining credit. It's like a $6 sandwich.

That is very true and we usually pay oop for that, since it is a waste of a credit.
But Iv'e heard good things about Wofgang's and that IS a better deal for a credit.
That's sort of why I was asking, I don't want to use the credits for meh meals, looking for something yummy!
You and I might be very different in what we like however, because I like Bongos too (at least table service)

Mara is your best bet for unique counter service. I'm also a big fan of the cold sandwiches at Wilderness Lodge. They are very good for counter service. I've also seen good reviews for Captain Cook's since it reopened in its proper location.

We stayed at Animal Kingdom a few years ago, but we were never there at lunch time. Ate breakfast and were off to the parks for the rest of the day.
I will check out menus for some of these places, Thank you

Oh, also, one more question. Do all most places start serving lunch at the same time? Or is that as diverse as ones own city?

I've tried most of the QS places around WDW. Best quick-service meals, IMHO, outside of the parks are:

Wolfgang Puck Express, DtD -- Really excellent food and excellent value. Don't miss it
Earl of Sandwich, DtD -- Not the greatest value, in terms of what the meal would cost, but great sandwiches.
Art of Animation Food Court -- Larger than most of the resort courts, and with better choices. Butter Chicken was excellent there.
Pepper Market, Coronado Springs -- A bit of added variety compared to most of the hotel food courts. Get the hot churros.
Contempo Cafe, Contemporary -- Food is decent, but the location is really nice -- watch the monorail go by.
Port Orleans FQ -- But only because of the beignets.

Most of the other resort food courts are just fine as well, so don't go too far out of your way for the better ones.

DW and I liked Contempo Cafe when we tried it. There are plenty of of fresh, relatively healthy choices. Plus if you are in MK you can take the monorail one stop to the CR and walk back!

If you're in AK then The Mara at AKL is an obvious choice.

I don't know much about the Epcot area resorts because we will just eat at Tangierine or Sunshine Seasons if we want QS, although I have enjoyed the mushroom pizza from the Boardwalk pizza window. I haven't used the dining plan for it, though, so I don't know if it's a good value.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a QS at Yacht Club but there is something at Beach Club. There is also a QS near the pool. There are ok if you are staying at either resort but I don't think worth a special trip.

We like the Quick Serves at all the monorail resorts. Contempo Café is decent, but if you're a monorail fan, you can't beat the scenery. Captain Cook's may be our favorite. You can eat inside or outside, plus you can get a Dole Whip. Gasparilla's Grill at the Grand Floridian is usually pretty quiet and you be able to get a table outside as well.

Contempo Cafe is pretty good, and sometimes has been great for us. I've had the Angus Cheeseburger when it was overcooked and it wasn't great. Cooked properly it can be a really good burger. The Caprese Flatbread has been very good consistently as a light night snack when we get back from the parks. The potato chips have been consistently outstanding. They are cut a little thicker than I normally prefer, but fresh from the fryer they have been crisp with a lot of flavor and not too greasy considering they are fried fresh.
