We have stayed at a few of the hotels on Irlo Bronson. On our first visit in 2000 we stayed at Days Inn Maingate East. If you're looking for a place to sleep, no frills, this was fine for the price. We paid around $35 a night, and at the time kids ate free at the restaurant, which was pretty hard to beat. We would have breakfast for the family for around $8 before heading to the parks. There was a decent little pool. The noise level was high though, but we were on a corner room near the stairway. So it really depends on what kind of hotel you're used to staying at. For us, this was just fine.
On our last trip, we spent a few days at the Travelodge Suites East Gate next to the big orange store. Even with a large and noisy high school band staying on our wing, once we were in our room it was fine. We stayed on property at All Stars Movies as part of a package deal with Magic Music Days, and we moved to the Travelodge afterwards, and were actually surprised that we had much more space in the "suite" as it was called for less than $40 per night. We had a pull out couch and 2 beds for that price and easily slept 5.
After deciding to extend our stay for another night, we had to switch motels and we stayed at another motel further down the strip. I wish I could remember the name of it. It was horrible in comparison. I think generally speaking the further away from Disney you are on the strip, the lower quality the motels. This was one of those nightmare experiences. We checked in and got our keys, got to the room and the keys didn't work. We traded them in and the 2nd set didn't work. Got a third set, and found the room to be completely stripped of sheets etc. Nothing was made up at all. So we went back to the desk for a 4th room, got in and none of the lights had lightbulbs. So finally after the 5th set of keys, we had a room. It smelled musty and gross, it was horrible. But after so many tries, we took it, knowing it was only for 1 night and that we were leaving out the next morning for our 24 hour drive home.
