They're making a movie of it. I just heard this. (Maybe everyone who would care already knows.)

Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne. I don't know if that the route I'd have gone.

If you read the book, what do you think of Ben as Nick?

Guess nobody read it. It wasn't as great as they say, anyway.

I will answer my own question, just for the hell of it.

I don't think Ben Affleck is good looking enough...or good-looking in the way Nick is supposed to be...to be Nick. But they could leave that stuff out, so I guess it doesn't really matter. But he isn't book Nick at all.

I also don't think he's a good enough actor to pull off what he'll need to pull off.

I didn't love the book enough to have it ruined by a movie, so I'll be seeing this one. :)

I'm aware of the book, read the reviews. Haven't had time to read a book in ages. :( I think I would put this one on my wish list.

I know exactly what you mean about movies ruining books, though. I refuse to see the movie version of Confessions of a Shopaholic. I loved that book. I loved it so much, I refused to even read the sequels to the book! My darling husband bought them all for me, and they sit on the shelf, unread, for fear that they will ruin the perfection of the first book. :)

It wasn't that good and the end sucked a bit. I disagree with all the people who went on and on about the amazingly well-developed characters. And I saw the big, shocking twist coming. It was one of the possibilities I'd thought of, anyway.

I don't usually read thrillers, but after all the outcries of it not being selected as one of the best books of 2012 because it was a thriller, I decided to give it a shot. It was pretty good, but I wouldn't be picketing over its lack of inclusion as a Best of Anything. I'm glad I read it, but wouldn't tell most people, "You must read this!"

It was no "Presumed Innocent."

It *could* make a very good movie, if done right. :)

I loved it, but you are right. The ending sucked, which is a big problem for a page turner like this. They payoff is nonexistent. I hope they correct this in the film.

It's still on my to-read list. I've been lazy with reading lately.

David Fincher, the director, has a great track record for book adaptations though. He improved the end of Fight Club and the author even declared his film to be superior. The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo were both great film adaptations as well.

Me too....the ending was a bit of a let down.
