Great idea getting in a few holes, fantastic way to relax!!
I love Oak Trails myself. If you shoot above 20 or under, it's a great course.
If you do play, I hope you do too...if I can ask...could you get a few pics of the course, I love it there...Good Luck...Hit a birdie for me!!!

Oak Trail is a 9-hole walking course.

If you're interested - they do offer lessons with a pro in the morning. Basic lessons to video analysis. There's even a golf vacation package.

As far as 18 holes courses go, I'd suggest starting with LBV (Lake Buena Vista). It's a nice course, the staff is great, and it's not as technical as some of the others.

Courses have varying tee intervals (like 8mins to 11mins, if i recall correctly) per course, and are strict on pace. If you're behind, make sure to let folks play through or the friendly Disney folks will remind you ;)

If you want a leisurely game, you're gonna have to go in the heat of the day or evening. Morning are usually pretty busy. Tee Times require a credit card guarantee and can be made through 407-WDW-GOLF.

If you're staying at WDW resort, transportion will be arranged by your front desk and is free of charge. You can rent clubs or bring your own - if you bring yours they can be transported between courses during your trip for you free of charge (and you get cute mickey bag tags).

Soft metal spike facility and strictly enforced (but not bad at all) dress code.

Enjoy your game :)

PS: The mickey-head shaped bunked is on Magnolia I believe.

My brother, father, and myself are playing Lake Buena Vista on the 29th @8:12 a.m. I have played occasionly but have no idea what my handicap would be. My brother is an alright player and I dont know if my father has ever swung a club in his life. We just want some man time together and my Dad, who has early stages of mesothelioma, said he thought he could play as long as we got a cart which is included in the price. I kinda wanted to do just 9 at Oak Trail but no carts there so we will play as many as we can if he feels up to it and leave when he has had enough. Should be fun no matter what. Check out Disneys website, it is very informitive.

I am getting a golf membership through DVC which gives a pretty big discount for tee times after 10am at disney courses only. Thanks for the input. I guess I should take wdwforus advice and find the website.

Disney has 99 holes on property. LBV is the "oldest" course (rennovated several times though) - located near Downtown Disney and winding through the Saratoga Springs and Old Key West DVC resorts. 18 holes.

Over by MK (Grand Floridian area) is Palm (18), Magnolia (18), and Oak Trail (9).

On the other side of MK, by Fort Wilderness, is Eagle Pines (18) and Osprey Ridge (18). Osprey is the prettiest course for most people and the wildlife is abundant. Both are very technical though.

I also sorta know a few of the pro's and folks who work LBV and to me it seems to be the most relaxed of the courses. Plus if you're at OKW or SSR for your DVC, it's right there :)

Great info. and a big help Merf! I`ll check out the Disney golf site, but I am already leaning toward LBV. I stayed at OKW a few times and recall having a course in our back yard, and telling the kids to be quiet because there was a 4 some putting out. Never realized it was LBV. Thanks again for the info.
4 airline tickets-$720 Food for 3 teenagers-$2500 Golf @ Disney W/kids......
