The last time i was at MGM they had removed the part of the studio tour where you went by the houses from Golden Girls and Empty Nest. I always loved that part and was VERY unhappy lol

anyway I was wondering if anyone knew why it was taken out (other than these shows have been off prime time for YEARS) and if they are still there or have been torn down?
THANKS :)

The "Residential Street" area has been demolished for the construction of the "Lights, Motors, Action Stunt Show." When you see how huge the arena is, you'll see how it took up the entire space where a "neighborhood" used to be!

Much to the chagrin of board member, Travis, the Golden Girls house is no more.

Much to Travis' delight though, all the Golden Girls are alive and still kickin'

:D :D :D :D :D :D

I seem to remember during an episode of Home Imporvement, that they blew up one of the Residential Street houses. Was it the Golden Girls' or another?

Residential Street needed to go.
Very little entertainment value in seeing the facades of houses from shows that were cancelled years ago....Golden Girls...Empty Nest..... :hammer:

I could not recognise a single house.

But hey, what is cooler than cars with guns attached?

The house that was blown up on "Home Improvment" was not in florida ,it was Universal Hollywood backlot..and the house was used in the tv show "Bewitched".

Interesting. I remember a tour guide mentioning something about it at MGM. Couldn't have been at Universal as I have never done the tram tour there... :veryconfu
