I guess it's a bad tradition.They buggered up Cinderella's castle for WDW 25th and feel the need to do it again.

Judging by the purple sky there must be alot of smog there.

Here is a slightly modified version of the picture with a blue sky. The castle seems to look a little better with a blue sky.

I think it looks fine...at least it still looks like a castle and the crowns won't be balloons. Part of the reason I hated the Castle Cake was because it didn't look like a castle and the decorations were balloons that swayed in the wind--it looked very cheap.

Can't argue with you there. It looks a whole heap better. But I'm still not keen on hiding so much of it with the banners.

Well I dont like the Stupid Crowns on the Castle..Crowns belong on Kings and Queens heads Not their homes.

The actual picture dosent have a purple sky how ever got the copy must have their colors mixed up.

I dont think Walt would like seeing his Castle Ruined like this.
I agree just clean it up put the Gold spires on the top fix the Drawbridge
and the walk thru attraction and open it up.

I'm with Kyle here, I think it looks fine. For a big celebration such as DL's 50th, I think "dressing up" the castle is appropriate for such an event.
I do understand the skeptism becasue of what was done to Cinderella's Castle making it look like a cartoon. :hurl:

We'll see how it looks when it's completed.

Don't judge a book by its cover. The actual appearance of the castle may look loads better than what the pic suggests. I think it looks terriffic.

This was about the same time they made a pig's of Cinderella's castle in Florida. There must have been a sale on "Gaudy you castle" kits that year.

They completely obliterated what could be considered to be the best MK castle in my opinion...

That has to take the award for the the tackiest...

I don't mind the crowns so much, but it is the cloth banner things on the walls I don't like. It just seems to be too much. We'll see though. I am just glad they are painting it again.
