Going to WDW Thanksgiving Day?

My family and I are frequent visitors to the World. We are annual passholders as we are only 5 or 6 driving hours away. We go for weekends when we can. We have never been at Thanksgiving. We have decided to go this trip arriving Thanksgiving afternoon and are going to be staying in Fort Wilderness in our camper. :sohappy: We will be there Nov 23 - Dec 3. Our passes have ran out in May and since we would not be able to go back until November, we did not renew them. We will have to purchase them when we get there. Can you tell me how bad the crowds are at this time? I know the weekend will propably be bad, but what about the week after?

Before Thanksgiving, bad... really bad...

After Thanksgiving, good... really good...

We always go the weekend after Thanksgiving because the lines are always so short and the park is basically empty.

Napnet, Are you talking the weekend following Thanksgiving Day? What about the week following? I have seen in the boards where it says that the Christmas decorations and the shows and parades will be going on starting the weekend of Thanksgiving.

Yes, last year we went Dec 4-8th and there was no one at the parks plus all the decorations was up and MVMCP was going on. This year we are going the 1st - 5th with the same expectations. The weekend of Thanksgiving is usually extremely packed since everyone has it off... the week afterwards is usually light since people are out of vacation days or saving them for Christmas

Napnet, I see your location is Tallahassee. We are from Southeast Alabama as in "Dothan". We go to Tallahassee often to shop. It is a very nice place to visit. We were very upset when the DISNEY STORE closed at Governor's Square . We went there at least once a month and we made some very good friends at the Store. The employees there were great and we miss seeing them.

We were there last for the week of Thanksgiving through the week following T-day. The week of T-day it gradually gets busier. Monday and Tuesday are fairly mellow but by Wednesday the day before it is pretty much full crazy through Sunday. As of Monday the crowds drop off drastically, but it is definately not the slowest time of the year anymore. I have noticed quite an increase in the parks over the last few years during this time.

If you are planning on having dinner at one of the restaurants on Thanksgiving you better get in you ADR now if you haven't already. Actually you batter make all of them for this time frame.

We will be there again this year from Nov 18th - Dec 2.

Yes, unfortunatly i think most of them closed down all over the country when The Children's Place bought them out.
