Going to WDw in July 2015 is great because...

Hi there! I am leaving for my vacation in Orlando in about 17 days and since I have always visited WDW during Christmas I'd like your help in knowing what is great about visiting in July. I know there's a lot of heat and a lot of people, but what about the good things?

The pool is very refreshing and the cold drinks are your best friends :) Also the parks are normally open later

The one good thing is you'll be at WDW!! That's good enough for me (as I will also be there next month). :cat:

Well in early July the 4th fireworks are the best I've ever seen

And also the mid-afternoon 10 min rain seems to empty out the parks. So hitting up an indoor attraction during this is great. It also makes water parks deserted cause the slides will close for lightning but if you stick it out its almost like you have the whole place to yourself

Aw, we'll just miss each other! I'll be sure to wave as we depart on the DME. :p

Although I just read some of the selfie thread and worried now about Brazilians whacking and chanting with them throughout the parks!
Oh, they chant, clap, scream, sing, carry flags, balloons and walk 20 wide down the walk ways and sit literally in the middle of the walkways and take up the sidewalks. Just avoid them the best you can. If you see the color parade coming, run :)

Thanks for the tip Jason! Too bad they don't make a real fart gun (I know, wrong franchise) that could be used to ward off these crowds. Although I suppose it would have to be really big one. :cat:

I've gone the past 5 years in July, usually around the 2nd or 3rd weeks. Decided to take a summer off from Disney this year. Might drive over for a day maybe.

Great because.... Mickey bars and other cold snack items taste soooo much better when its hot out. And you have more reason to get multiple cooling treat breaks in a day. People also tend to get worn out faster in the heat so they might head back to the resorts so you have a chance to catch those rides you want to go on. Just beware of the heat bringing in the less patient, short tempered, cranky guests who havent counted on the extreme crowds and humid surroundings.
