I was wondering if any of you have been to to Tokyo Disneyland? I'm planning on going and could use some travel tips. I tried to do this trip through a travel agent, but the few I have talked to so far said they couldn't help me.:brick:

You're not gonna find many US based travel agents... especially on the east coast... that know much (if anything) about Tokyo. Look for a west coast based agents... maybe a San Francisco or Los Angeles based TA.

my help for airfare at least... for US based carriers, AA and Continental will generally offer the lowest fares... avoid Northwest like the plague. Only consider United if they're doing a sale.

The cool thing about the AA flights, sometimes they're codeshared with JAL (Japan Airlines) which is a rather good airline.

Ok, what's the best time of year to go? How do I buy tickets? Once I get to Narita airport, how do I get to Tokyo Disney? Is there a package you can buy that incorporates travel, rooms and tickets?

Ok. Best time of year. Hmmmm. . . Well, it really depends. Really, any time you go will be fairly crowded (the Japanese do love their Disney). Winter or Fall are probably the best time in terms of crowds, but they can get downright cold and very damp. Other traffic trends are similar to the US parks. We are going in July, because that is when we will be there. We expect large crowds.

You can buy tickets in advance from travel agents or through the Tokyo Disney website. You can also buy them on site.

In order to get to Disney, the best thing to do is take the trains. Most of the signs are in English (especially in Tokyo). On most of the Disney brochures, they tell you which station to go to. Then all you have to do is look the station up on the huge maps that hang on the station walls. Then take the proper trains, which are all labeled. You can also take a Taxi or have your travel agent arrange transport.

As far as pacakges, there are some. I do not know that particulars, because I have always gone as part of our regular trip to Japan (meaning that Disney was not our primary focus). If I could make a suggestion, there are numerous Ryokan-style inns, around the Tokyo area. If you want an authentic experience, you could do a lot worse than one of these. They kinda make you feel like you are in Karate Kid 2. They are sometimes expensive, but deals can be found online (search RYOKAN on Google). I would look into that. It is a once-in-a-lifetime (for a Westerner) experience.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance. They are incredible parks.

That sucks.. I hope the repair is not too expensive. Out of curiousity what kind of camera do you use?
