-During the ToT drop sequence
-On a boat or somewhere during Wishes or IllumiNations
-Work out some sort of a set-up at Guest Relations (I think I've heard of people doing that before)

Good luck, I hope she says yes!

The carriage ride sounds like a really romantic idea, but you wanna do something unique being at Disney. Some places a carriage ride can be done at any time.

I like the idea of doing it during like Illuminations. The music is wonderful, along with the fireworks. I know it gets dark, but stand by a particular country that the both of you like or is special perhaps, and pop the question when it's your country's turn to light up.

Good luck to you!:sohappy:

Yeah, the ToT is pretty much a joke.

I like the idea of doing it near the end of Wishes, especially if you get a good spot.

Proposal ideas

I have been on threads in a couple other forums like this thread and here are some of the ideas:

1. Cinderella's restaurant: at MK in the castle, they apparently have a deal where you can let them know about it when you make your ADR and then head towards the bathroom and give the manager the ring. Cinderella will come out with the ring in a carriage or a glass slipper.
2. Illuminations cruises are always brought up.
3. A walk on the beach at the Grand Floridian during Wishes is an idea.
4. (And this is my recommendation) Get reservations at the California Grill prior to Wishes. try to aim so you can be just finishing when the fireworks start. Go our on the observation deck and propose to her while the show is ongoing, maybe right after one of the "All your wishes will come true" lines.

Like I said, I would go with number 4. California Grill is our favorite restaurant, and there is nothing quite like Wishes after an amazing meal from the observations luck.

Good luck on the proposal and blessings on your nupials and marriage!

I concur with the California Grill. I once ate there for my birthday and Wishes started just as dessert came. Fantastic!

Right when Steven Tyler starts the countdown on RnRC. It should go something like this:

[Steven] 5!
[You] WILL
[Steven] 4!
[You] YOU
[Steven] 3!
[You] MARRY ME?!
[Steven] 2!
[Her] WHAT?!?!?!?!?!
[Steven] 1! (Ride takes off)
*Ride Ends*
[Her] YES!!!

Thoughts and Suggestions

Depending upon how much you are willing to spend at Disney World you can go with any of the following:

1. Rent the Boat Breathless and you can propose during the ride.

2. Cindy's Royal Table. A very nice way to go, they will allow you to purchase the shoe after all is said and done. Which is a nice way to remember it.

3. Ride up front in the Monorail coming from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom and do it when the Magic Kingdom comes into view.

4. Pop the question on the Liberty Belle in Frontierland.

Hope these suggestions helped. Let us know how you make out and congrats.
I will be celebrating my honeymoon at Disney World in August. :sohappy:

What ride or attraction does your GF really enjoy? Take her on that ride or attraction when you propose. Oh yeah, getting down on one knee doesn't hurt either.

Here's what I'm going to do but you can steal it if you want it. It's kind of corny but some girls eat that stuff up.

Take her to Cinderella's Wishing Well. Give her a coin to toss in the well and tell her to make a wish. Tell her not to tell you her wish because then it won't come true. Then tell her it's your turn. Pull out a coin and toss it in. She'll be wondering what your wish is even if she doesn't ask so say "Let's see if it will come true." Then get down on one knee and pop the question.

Kind of corny, but I thought it was sweet. I'm faaaaar away from getting engaged so feel free to steal it. :p

Good idea... but what if she looks at you weird and says, "My wish was for a pony!"?

Wow - what a lovely idea!

Personally I'd say combime all the 'romantic things' from all the suggestions.

My favourite is the cinderella slipper one, I can't imgine any girl not being impressed with that proposal.

But how about this - if she has in idea you may ask - do one really romantic thing each day and build up to the cinderella thing.

For example - get flowers delivered one day
do the wishing well one - but don't tell her your wish (until after she accepts)
Do the carriage ride
Watch wishes from a boat or beach or Contemporary
Leave the Cinderella bit till near the end of your holiday

Finally and most important ask the other man in her life for permission - her Dad!

Good luck, when do you go? Make sure you check back and tell us what you decided

I proposed to my now Fiance last Halloween at MNSSHP. She was dressed as Christine Dia and I was dressed as the Phantom of the Opera. I took her to Cinderella's Wishing Well next to the castle. went ahead of her and had her Dad tell her where I went and sent here after me. I had two identical ring boxes. One with two new 2005 pennes and one with the ring. I set the box with the pennies on the edge of the well and let her find it when she got there. I also put a note inside that said "Make a Wish" (I knew what her wish would be. It was the only one she had talked about for quite a while.) One penny was to make a wish with and the second was to keep as a reminder of the moment. Then I sang her part of a song from Phantom of the Opera ("All I ask of you") and got down on one knee and proposed. I then gave her the second box with the ring. Then we hugged and kissed and heard a bunch of applause from people who had been walking by.

She told me later she kind of knew it was coming becuase I would not let her near the camera bag or the room safe where I was hiding the ring.

Now our wedding is scheduled for Sept. 30, 2006 at WDW.

Good luck with your proposal, use your imagination, relate it to things the two of you have shared and you can't go wrong.

Please let us know how it goes.

I suggest doing the basic thing, right in front of the castle at night, not even during wishes, just right in front of the castle. good luck
