Going to Disney World in August!

New member here...hello all! My wife, stepson (12 years old) and I will be going to Disney World in August. We're driving down from New Jersey, leaving August 6th after she gets out of work. We'll drive all night but before we go to Disney World we're going to the West Coast of Florida to see my family. We'll be there until August 9th. We're driving over to Orlando, staying that night offsite, then on the 10th we check into Coranado Springs for 4 nights!
This will be my wife and stepsons 3rd time at Disney, first time offsite for 3 nights, second time at Caribbean Beach for 4 nights. I lived in Florida when I was younger for about 20 years and have been to Disney MANY times...probably about 15 times or so, first being in 1973! I miss the Skyride and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea! (don't miss having to use tickets for each ride though...haha!) Also went to Epcot alot (my favorite park) including the first year it opened.
I'm 44 years old and can't believe how excited I am about going...lol Guess I'm just a big kid at heart! We were planning on staying 5 nights but because of gas prices we decided to cut a night short to help offset the price of gas.
We're planning on moving to Florida next summer...probably around the Northport/Venice area. Anyway, nice to "meet" you all. LOTS of great information on this site!

We make the drive a few times a year from here in upstatish'ish NY. We usually stop on the Gulf Coast to visit family and then head on over to Orlando. Florida in August is hot and humid, but we don't mind (that much :lol: ). We usually stay on site (tried off site once and hated it). I'm way over 40 and I still get excited about a trip to WDW! :lol:

Sounds like you have a great trip planned. Bring us back a lot of pictures and say Hi! to Tigger and Mickey for me! :cool:

Well instead of starting a new post, figured I'd bump this one up!!!

First off, I am the wife of Burning Metal and like he has said, we will be at Disney starting August 10th for 4 nights. As soon as I get out of work on August 6th we'll be heading right on I-95 straight down!!! Going to the west coast first (Sarasota/Bradenton) then making our way back up to Orlando the evening of the 9th and starting our Disney package on the 10th!!! We can hardly wait!!! We will be at the Coronado Springs which I hear is a very nice place!!! We do plan on taking a lot of pictures too, it's gonna be a blast! Hopefully we can get to Disney more often once we move to FL next year. Jersey is too expensive and getting sick of paying high rent, plus who can afford a house here?? :lol:

BTW - as my husband said, this site is VERY informative!!!
