Going next year - last week in May to first week in June

Is there anything that I should be looking out for crowd wise? I used to always go in June when I was younger, then switched to September over the past few years.

We went this year in March and whilst it was still good, it still had a bit of a chill so we're looking for the last week of May to first week of June. Any idea what the crowds would maybe be like?

That's field trip season, my friend. Colleges and Universities will have just ended, and high school trips will be in full swing. Overall, the crowds should be lighter than peak (summer/holiday) times, BUT there's a risk that the composition of the crowd is a bit more irritating than usual.

One suggestion I'd make is to avoid Magic Kingdom on Monday. I have this general rule regardless of what time of year I travel, as people tend to travel on Sunday and do MK first thing.

Great, when we went in March it was the start of Spring Break. Would it tend to be busier than Spring Break?

That's hard to say. There's really no official "spring break week," as my friends and I have had spring breaks anywhere from the first week in March to the first week in April, and in four years we've never had spring break on the same week as each other. I do remember that my (three) spring-break trips to WDW also coincided with Cheer Week, which was obscene. A troup of 16-year old girls practicing their cheers in the basement que of Tower of Terror is about as bad as it gets.

This is a little more nitpicky, but the people who CHOOSE to go to WDW (myself included) are doing so because they love Disney. Compare this to big school-sponsored field trips, which tends to have a lot more people who come in with an attitude, bad behavior, etc.

Well our plan as always, is to get in early, do the rides and then come out for a bit. Then go back in at night for a more leasurely pace (hopefully).

So bascially...tour groups!?

We used to always go in June (mid June) when I was a teenager so I know kind of what to expect. But it has been a while :)

I dn't know because I mostly go in late April/early May. Generally, I try to go when kids are still in school, which is nice because then there aren't very long lines. The longest line I saw was TSMM (90 mins), but then again from my understanding, that line is always long.

You will have to watch out for Star Wars weekends and possibly Gay Days during early June.

But overall, Late May and Early June are very moderate crowd levels. The parks get more crowded the later into June you go.

Like others have said, expect moderate crowds. But we don't usually have a problem with crowds. We love the middle to end of May. We are planning our first cruise then WDW for next May.

As others have said, it's a crap shoot. Three years ago, we were there at that time and it was crowded, with a lot of irritating school groups wearing matching T-shirts filling entire queue lines.

This year, we were there from June 2 to June 7. The crowds were surprisingly light. We went to DHS during the week to avoid the Star Wars Weekends crowd and the Gay Days crowds weren't too noticeable.

Good luck!

Not sure either week would make a difference crowd wise! End of May you have the Memorial day holiday that could increase attendance and the beginning of June schools are letting out.

We were there this year during that exact time. Crowds were moderate, very manageable (and this is coming from someone who HATES being at WDW when it is crowded and has a very low tolerance for crowds). Even Memorial Day was not bad. In fact, we were at MK on Memorial Day, and it was the least crowded day of our whole trip.

As far as avoiding MK on a Monday, touringplans.com actually suggests going to MK on Monday's due to the fact that MK has evening EMH on Sundays. We've always followed this advice, and we have found Monday's at MK to usually be the lighter crowd days of our trips.

We left WDW on June 4th to go on a cruise, and when we got off the cruise on June 8th, we spent one more day at WDW. The change in crowd levels were HUGE. By June 8th, the crowd levels had increased quite a bit (for example Haunted Mansion had been a walk on for us every time during our trip...on the 8th, the line was past the gates...same with Pirates...we walked on every time the first part of our trip, and had about a 20 minute wait on the 8th). But like I said before, up until the fourth it was fine.

Have fun!

Well I'd never do a park on a holiday at anytime of the year. I figured I'd probably avoid the Star Wars Weekends anyhoo and no idea when Gay Day is. We'll probably go mainly the last week of May. We'll be getting hopper tickets so just hop to different parks depending on crowd levels.

I kinda figure there would be moderate crowds - just hoped it wouldn't be shoulder to shoulder. My plan is to get in first thing for opening, then leaving mid-afternoon when the heat and crowds build up then head back in the evening.
