Going fulltime: from WDW to DLR

I'm a current CP here at WDW and been thinking of going fulltime after my program. I love WDW and really think I could work my way up to become maybe a GSM in a few years. Recently I found out a buddy of mine is doing one semester out in the LA area and he joked I could share a place with him and work at DLR.

Would it be a bad move to work there for 6 months (well perhaps longer if things are rolling good)? Would it be hard to in a year or two to transfer back to WDW? Would my experience at DLR "count" at WDW? Like if I was a coordinator at DLR could I be in the running for a coordinator job at WDW?

I just think it would be exciting to work at DLR and I even think it could be a positive experience and may look good on a resume (like how it shows I worked and gained experience at different parks).

Pretty-much it boils down to... I know Disney is all about hiring from within so would me parting ways from WDW for maybe a year ruin my chances at WDW (would I have to start down at the bottom again when I returned) or would my experience from different parks impress? Would I be better off staying put at WDW?

Once you leave WDW your seniority is gone. You would come back low man on the totem pole again. They will not discount your experience, but it will take you longer to get back up to where you were when you left....

I know at least one person who has worked at both DLR and WDW. I'm not sure how this affected his seniority, but he is currently at a coordinator-level position at WDW. Even though Disneyland and WDW are seperate entities with in the Walt Disney Company, I do know that upper-level CM's property-hop with some frequency. For example, I know of a GSM at Epcot that went to work at Disneyland Paris for 6 months. I'm not entirely sure how it works for lower-level CM's. I think this would be a good question to ask your local area manager and casting.
