Hey Guys I was wondering if you get hired on as a part time cast member is it a option to drop down to a seasonal CM? I'm assuming you would have to wait the 6 months?

I'm not sure if they would allow to do that. Why exacting would you want to go from part time to seasonal? You know seasonal get let go at the end of their season and so you would be out a job shortly after the marathon. Even if you are just part-time you will probably be working more hours during holiday and can request to work more or pick up shifts with out having to risk your job.

From my understanding as a seasonal CM you have a minimum number of hours you have to work a year to keep benefits. I was trying to confirm this and exactly how it works.

The main difference is that CR (part time) have to give 3 days of availability a week. CT (seasonal) have to work 150 hours on a rolling calendar.

Some locations employ lots of CTs and you would certainly be able to drop your status. HOWEVER, some locations do not have any CTs (we just had a couple people denied at the resort I work at), so you're out of luck and would just need to terminate employment.

Yzma is right. You may or may not be able to drop to seasonal after working as a CR for awhile. In our shop, we have various CTs who are "snowbirds" and some who are locals who like the idea of only working 150 hours per year. They get some of the same benefits, some lesser benefits (maingate admits for example). The are at the bottom of the scheduling pole however. Labor schedules the FT then CP then CR then CT. so just because you stated you are available to work for a certain day doesn't guarantee that you get scheduled. You are still required to work a minimum of 150 hours.
