Going for the Princess Half Marathon weekend...but not to run!

We're FL residents and APers. There is a band playing at House of Blues in DTD on Saturday Feb. 23rd with the race being on the 24th.

First of all, there's supossedly AP and FL room discounts during that time frame, but I'm not finding any. Any ideas which resorts are 'host resorts' this year? POP was showing up as $170 a night! Wha??! We pay $80 tops with our discounts most of the time. Is it jacked up because of the race event? Hoping this means the crowds won't be too crazy, either...

So for now, we're staying off property (boo!). BUT we do have a few ADR's (which is just something we've started making; we're more of a casual, fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants touring style.)

Our Plan So Far:

Stay at the Fairfield Inn and Suites in the Marriott Village, Friday-Monday.

Saturday
ADR at Kona Cafe Saturday for breakfast, 9:40.
(I always dream of making rope drop, or at least getting into the parks early. My boyfriend likes to sleep in on 'vacation.' Hopefully this will get him up and out to eat!)
Maybe AK to see some of the animals out and about, then get a beer and stroll through the exploration trails. Hit a few rides, another beer, and nap time back at the hotel. Freshen up for the concert and head to DTD.

Concert (Dark Star Orchestra- a Grateful Dead coverband- on Saturday night at DTD HOB. We'll probably eat some crab legs/stone crab claws and have bloody mary's before the show. Or check out Wolfgang Pucks- never been there, any good? Seems like it gets good recommendations on here...Either way, we want to eat and drink in DTD before showtime. Or maybe Raglan Road. Decisions, decisions, decisions! Definitely shopping at Basin for some bath goodies.

Sunday
Maybe go to DHS to get TSM fastpasses and see a few of the attractions there we've never done. Let the crowds thin out from Epcot and head over there around 11or so.

ADR at Via Napoli Sunday for late lunch, 2:00. Eat, drink and be merry around World Showcase.

Other than that, we're wide open. I would love to take a Behind the Seeds tour in the Land Pavilion at Epcot if we can get a ressie day of.

Monday
Go to AoA for breakfast (yummy! create-your-own smoothies, oatmeal, omelette, fruit bowl and more!) Cry about it being our last day. Swing by MK for a bit. Have a beignet from the Tomorrowland Terrace that's filling in during the Main Street Bakery refurb. Visit Wilderness Lodge and lounge. Draw out the day as long as possible before having to drive home.

There are also a few attractions we haven't ever seen:
Rope drop at ANY park
DHS: Art of Animation, One Man's Dream, Little Mermaid Show, Lights, Camera Action show, BATB show
AK: Nemo show, Flights of Wonder, Camp Minnie Mickey, Tough to be a Bug (we've done it, but not in a while)
MK: Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamborie, Monster's Inc Laugh Factory
Epcot: the show in China, American Adventure, Turtle talk with Crush, new Test Track

Suggestions/must-do's are always appreciated.

Looks like a great line-up to me! We really like Wolfgang's a lot, have been twice and have it back on our list for August. "Eat, drink and be merry" is always a big theme for me in WDW. (side-note, I'm a huge DMB fan.) Kona Cafe is my favorite non-character/buffet breakfast, Tonga Toast .
The Nemo show is really cool, but long...I think it's like 45 minutes and you have to get there early to lineup for a decent seat. We've only made it happen once, but worth it!

Exciting news! We managed to get a room on-property at the POP! We were going to stay off-property because Resort rates were so high (even with AP and FL Res. discounts), but I checked tonight and we'd only have to pay a bit more to stay on-property. SO worth it. I'm even MORE excited now! AND- we're getting in early Friday afternoon, so we have the afternoon/evening and night to play. AK is open 'till 7- think we may take advantage of evening hours there. 7 more days to go!
