MY DD and I have been to Disney many times but never during Christmas but this year we finally decided to go. We'll be there Dec 3 to 7 and I have a few Christmas questions.
How late do the parks stay open? nothing posted on web site yet.
How soon should I purchase MVMCP tickets? Does it sell out? There are a couple dates that the party is on while we are there.
Remind me on how soon I can make priority seating ( I know it has changed)
And lastly how are the crowds? We usually have gone during the summer and one time in Jan but never in December or Christmas time.
Thanks for the help!!

Hi,

I've never been during that time myself but I think you will find it to be pretty quiet. Due to this the park hours will be reduced to 'off-season' times but these are still pretty good - probably similar to what you've seen in January.

You can make ADR's 90 days in advance.

We went last year at this time. It was a nice time to go. It is not as "uncrowded" as you may think. Mornings OK then it would get crowded. Went to the MVMCP and is was PACKED. It was an OK time but not what I expected. They do sell out so decide on the day and get those tickets.

I canot recall the hours of the park - sorry.

We went the week after that last year. We had an amazing time. There is so much to see. Take some time and explore World Showcase also the resorts, GF WL and AKL were amazingly decorated.

As far as MVMCP, do a bit of research. Try to avoid any party that is on a discount night. We were leaving MK on one of those nights, we had heard that night's party was sold out. The line of people on Main Street and at the gates scared us. Our tickets for for a few nights later. We were so happy the night we went. It was empty. We had no waits for anything. We got spots for fireworks and parade just minutes before they started.

I would advise choosing your MVMCP date now and get your tickets ordered. This timeframe used to be considered "slow" but with the advent of free dining during this time frame you will find it is not as slow as you would think. It is, however, a wonderful time to enjoy WDW. Icy castles, miles and miles of garland, decorations as far as the eye can see, Christmas carols, snow on Main Street, resort decorations and displays, Osborn lights, Candlelight Processional, hot cocoa and cookies - I could go on and on. Enjoy your stay.

We went at Christmas in 2003 or should I say the first 2 weeks in December. It is still my favourite time to visit Disney. I can't remember how late the parks opened. I remember watching the Christmas parade but it was so late the kids fell asleep and missed santa! Must have been midnight I think.

What I do remember is that the weather was perfect, we had bright blue skies and about 75 each day and the queues were almost non existent
You could get off a ride and straight back on again on most rides.

I booked MVMCP when we arrived. Obviously thats a bit of a risk, but it worked out for us. I would book as soon as you get the chance. They normally release dates 3 months ahead so in September you should be able to make a good decision.

Disney looks so special at Christmas and i beleive that the new lights on the castle are just magical. Makes me wonder why we booked August now!:veryconfu
