Well, like I earlier said about the possible new park going next to the Wide World of Sports Complex and land being cleared out I found some evidence on mapquest to support this and I know that it is not the second phase for POP century because that is down and across the street from this area. Could this possibly be cleared land for a new park or something else?

Ok, I'm having some trouble getting the picture up so if you really want to see it then go to mapquest.com look up lake buena vista, go to the Osceola Pky. and World drive intersection. the space of cleared out land will be on the lower right corner of the intersection.

It is interesting, but i doubt it due to Animal Kingdom being brand new and Disney not having so much money right now. It could be for anything. I do hope it is a park though, because that would be sweet.:sohappy:

The area of Development is going to be near WWOS. The Pop Century resort is the first in the WWOS resort area. So expect the next project (water park, theme park...) to be near there.

I agree with the wide world of sports being a waste of space. Yea, it is a destination for sporting events but thats it. I wouldn't want to spend my money to go there for a day when I could go somewhere else. Rather stay at the resort.

Oh, and ToWeroFTerRor67, I heard somebody else in a differant forum a while back say that a CM said that land had been cleared out and piping is being layed for a new park or something on those lines. So we can only cross our fingers.

I would have to agree that Complex is a waste of space. I could be wrong, but i thought they were doing away with some of the attractions. Can anyone verify that? Well, im sure something new has to come up. Keeping fingers crossed!:p

What about a differnet location?

I heard that the WWOS location might be use for a future hotel to cater to sport teams of groups that come to use the facility.
I would think that a location along Bay lake would look like behind Eagle Pines. But i think that before disney adds another park, they should expand their old ones. Perhap use the Disney:AMERICA idea to expand Liberty Square. Expand FutureWorld to go behind Wonders of life & Universe of Energy.Perhaps add other counties to Animal Kingdom, like Australia, and/or even the Ocean(they have animals in oceans too!):p

There is no space the expand behind WOnders of Life and Univ. of Energy because their are plenty of access roads and backstage areas directly behind it.

And since Epcot already covers sea life in "the Living Seas", i doubt AK would get an "ocean" area...... just my 2 cents

Expansion areas at Disney are everywhere. they won't let access roads or backstage areas stop expansion. Look at DCA located in the old Disneyland parking lot. How about the fact that the Disneyland Railroad tracks were re-aligned outward to add acreage to Disneyland (if you look at opening photos of DL from the air, you'll notice the park is an upside down triangle with straight edges, but as the years go by each straight edge of track is pushed outward). So if Disney decides to design a new area or attraction, and a road is in the way, I would say the road will be moved.

Anyone notice that the people complaining that WWOS is a waste are the non-locals. Well guys, of course it is not catering to what you want and it is not going to compete with Magic Kingdom and stuff, but hey, if I were still in school playing volleyball or something, I'd love to go there to play. I think WWOS is a great idea for local sports, especially since Florida has the best teams and athletes compared to everywhere else in the States. So take it light, if you don't like it don't go there.

I dont think its a whole new park..too soon...they also would have announced it...

They announced a 3rd park in cali and havnt even broke ground on it yet...

I have to admit I think WWOS is pretty cool! We love minor league baseball -- have four teams here in Connecticut (well, and major league baseball, too, but I can't afford the steap New York ticket prices). I'm hoping to catch a minor league baseball game this summer while we're there. One of these days I want to plan a trip so I can see the Braves play the Mets at WDW during Spring training -- that's would the coolest!
