So we rode the Great Movie Ride.. One of my all time favorites in my favorite park.. and I loved the update by Robert Osborn.. However going back to the room at Pop Century.. there was NO TCM on the Disney Tv.. they had AMC.. which now is impossible to watch with all the commercials.. They basically broke up a song in White Christmas the other night.. I was dying for TCM.. it doesn't make any sense.. if you are making a big thing about them in a park.. have to have them on you local tv..

its Directv and its offered on Directv Basic.. so it shouldn't be a problem to offer..

I doubt a customer the size of Disney just order up the basic package at advertised prices. But I will defer to your obvious expertise on the subject.

I've been watching tv for 47 years but that doesn't make me an expert on the entertainment programming Disney provides in its resorts.

There's a big difference between TCM's marketing department writing a check to Disney Parks to have their name on a ride....and the extremely complicated process of negotiating TV channel distribution. For the same reason you can't just add one channel to your programming at home, Disney can't just add one channel to their television distribution package. It's not as easy as two execs having a drink together, and flipping a switch.

I never thought about it but it's a great idea. I love TCM. The channel itself could do a weekly Vault Disney program like Disney Channel used to do every night in the 90s.
