Gluten Free Dining

Do all of the restaurants (both quick service & sit down) offer gluten free options? Our daughter was diagnosed with Celiac disease, and we're wondering if there are certain restaurants that offer more gluten free options. Thanks!

Most restaurants have gluten-free options some better than others. You can call or email guest services and they will send you a link to their site that lists gluten free options by location, plus some of the non-Disney sights have listings of gluten free options. If your Daughter has certain foods she likes better than others we can give some suggestions.

You can see a bunch of reviews here -> http://www.glutenfreedairyfreewdw.com/ There are a few other sites that talk about special diets, and several previous threads on here as well.

TS is pretty much a safe bet to find GF options, CS is a toss up. Any CS location keeps "the book" of all ingredients used in any given meal you can ask to see. Depending on the severity of her diagnosis, keep in mind unknowns such as cross contamination from shared fryers (chicken nuggets breading in the same oil as french fries etc).

Hello GF, DF and vegan here. First I'm sorry to hear about your dd's diagnosis but yea you're going to probably the best place on earth to eat without fear. All Disney owned TS and QS places now have allergy menus that list what is gf, df etc. They cannot list an item as gf that's not fried in a dedicated fryer. If you have any questions feel free to quote, tag or PM me Figgy

My mother-in-law has Celiac and when we arrived at each QS/TS we told the cashier/waiter of her disease and they gave several options. At Wilderness Cafe, the Chef actually came out of the kitchen and sat down next to my mother-in-law and asked her what she wanted to eat, and he said he would make it GF. He also made her an elaborate GF dessert. She ate better that week at WDW than at home.

find the app called Gluten Free Disney Dinning. It's been helpful for us. My youngest has Celiac and although we still bring in some food for her we've have found more QS options for her. Ask questions, allow for extra time as it takes longer to prepare the GF foods. Last trip I would go ahead of our group and get her food ordered before everyone else. Have to pay attention too. Usually the GF food is brought out by a manger from the back with a different color tray. I had one place give us the wrong food and I questioned it because it didn't come from a manager in the back. the GF food also looks a bit different because of the GF bun, etc. Signs to look for...

Not sure about the severity you are dealing with, but we need to stick with Certified Gluten free foods. Some GF options they have (think the Anne's Mac and cheese is one) is not certified, so we avoid. Pizza has been fine since they use Udi's crust, chicken fingers are fine at QS places that have dedicated GF fryers.

Good luck, let me know if I can help further.

As others have said make sure to mention it to each and every person who come in contact with Host/hostess, cashier, server etc. If in doubt ask to talk to a chef even at qs places. QS places will have a manager or cook come and manage your order if you ask.

I have Celiac and have been many times to WDW. Every eatery in the Parks, at the Resorts, in Disney Springs go over the top to take care of the Gluten Free needs. I really feel no worries wherever I dine. Most places the Manager or Chef comes out and says "Tell me what you want, we can do it for you" They really make you feel confident you will be safe eating whatever they fix for you. If you do make dining reservations mention you have a Celiac person in your group. Enjoy your trip!
