Gift Baskets in Room

Is there a service at the WDW resorts that can have things like gift baskets waiting in your room when you check in? My parents are taking me to WDW for my 21st birthday, and I want to have a basket of cookies or something to greet them when they get to the room as a thank you. We will be at AKL, but not concierge. Has anyone ever done anything like this?

Ohhh Meaghan!!!

I guess you seduced them into a trip as I remembere you planning--good for you.

Last vacation, we had a gift basket of fruit and cookies in my room that my parents got for me b/c it was my 20th birthday. Call the Florist, my dad said that they were very helpful!

I'll be there for my 21st too, Dec 26!!

They have all sorts of stuff, all you have to do is tell them what you want. The last 2 times we sent an insulated bag that was filled with all kinds of snacks, candy, fruit and a little Minnie for their baby. We received a basket with fruit, candy, cookies, Mickey ears, autograph book & pen.

Give them a call they will help you work everything out. Check out "Our own unique designs" near the bottom of the list.

they will not put the bag into the room until after you check in because most of the times they assign the room when you check in and sometimes swap the rooms off of the reservation.

Hi crazygirley, How have you been? When we went to WDW in Aug for our 10th wedding aniversary someone sent us a gift basket. It came about a hour after we checked in. A WDW member, Ashliegh sent it actually. We had meet on line and she had a little baby. She lived in the metro Detroit area so we lent her our back pack stroller for there trip the month before it.

It was such a nice surprize, it really made us feel like we had arived at WDW and the magic had started. It had fruit, crackers, chesse and cookies in it. All in a mickey shapped basket. We took the basket home and use it on the kicthen counter for snacks.

I will post a picture of it in my photo album, but I need to delete another picture 1st, I am out of room. Anna had just woken up from her nap and we had been up since 3:00 am, so we both look a little funny!

Have a wonderful trip and 21st birthday. We will be at WDW in 2 months (Jan 1 - 7th). One last trip with our annual passes. I don't know when we are going after that. (Turns out my department at the hosptial is closing so I am out of a job and a full time mom in 2004, but I happy about this now!)

I walked into our room--first time--and the gift basket was present. It was a great surprise.

In the past I have been able to contact the hotel manager about a week before we arrive and tell him/her what we are trying to do and have always had good luck. The WDW Florist does have a large selection of items and the Hotel will work to get things into your room before you get there if you are really nice to them. I had two dozen roses delivered to our room for our anniversary once, but... Here is the process I had to go through:

1) Called manager and described what I wanted to do.
2) He asked me to call WDW Florist and arrange what I wanted with them. He also put a note in my reservation record with special instructions
3) The florist delivered the flowers to the hotel guest services on our day of arrival. The flowers had a note with our res # indicating they were to be put in the room on check-in before occupation. Guest Services made an entry into our record that the flowers were there and needed to be placed into our room after it was assigned.
4) When we got to the desk the special instructions came up on our res rec. Our desk agent went in the back for a minute and while she was getting our keys and going over some other check-in items with us another cast member ran to our room and put the flowers in it.

Kind of a lot of work but being nice to people and asking nicely (and being nice when people say "no") pays off.

Every year I when my niece and nephew go to WDW, I send a basket filled with cookies, fruit, disposable cameras, pens, pencils, autograph books, etc. You can pretty much create your own basket. Just call the Disney Florist. They are very, very helpful.

Attention Chris!

What hotel was that done at?!

My husband and I are spending our 2nd anniversary at the Carribbean Beach (11/30-12/6 - actual anniversary date 12/1). We're also taking a friend of mine along who is very ill (will probably be on the liver donor list next year, as he contracted Hep C as an infant from a blood transfusion - He's 23 now and no treatment has worked - he's an upstanding, very nice guy and I wanted him to enjoy this trip before he may be too ill to enjoy it next year, so I've been his personal "Make a wish foundation", taking on a second job and selling my pre-release CDs (I'm a singer songwriter in my spare time) to make ends meet for his end of the trip). A goodie basket awaiting him would help make this PERFECT, but I was under the impression they don't deliver to rooms anymore at check in. Was this a delux hotel you were staying at?

Believe it or not it was at the All Star Music. I had to make a lot of calls and get through a lot of "no"s, but in the end I got what I wanted. It is the same with everything at WDW - be presistant. Make certain that when you hit a road block go around it or over it. Do not be afraid to escalate within the WDW organization and keep trying. Eventually you will get to someone that says YES!
