GFV or VGF availability?

Hey all,

We are strongly considering purchasing some Grand Floridian points to add to our OKW points. It would be a somewhat small number (two teachers can't afford too much!!) and I'm wondering how availability has been for those who have been booking. I know that once you at 7 months, there is next to nothing, but how is it between the 11 and 7 month windows?

Thanks.

I think availability at 7 months has been pretty good so far, but that probably won't last. That's because DVC declared about 70% of the points into DVC inventory, but has only sold about 20% of all the points so far.

Interesting....every date I have looked at in April for a standard studio has been booked. If we do buy, it will only be enough points for a couple nights, so my hope is that if things aren't booking solid at 7 months, we can get some more nights with our OKW points. I just haven't had any luck with looking so far.

I'm curious on this too. I pulled up nothing for our April trip but have my fingers crossed that when I call in January for our August trip we get at least a few nights!

I checked the member site today for June 30-July 7. The first 3 are available, the next two are not and the last 3 are. So it is not impossible and not as bad as I thought. We plan to split our stay with VGF and somewhere else (still undecided) so I am glad VGF is available.

FYI - we did purchase VGF points and we booked for June 30 and July 1. Looking at most of July it was pretty hit or miss for a Studio. 2 days full, 2 days available - that kind of thing all through the month. But looking at August things were pretty open.

I just booked today July 12-July 17 at VGF Studio. I am beyond excited!!!!!
We also have a waitlist for July 7-12 at BWV...I really hope I get it.

Edit: Switched from BWV to BCV and we got it...no waitlist...sooo happy.

We got a guaranteed week on our cruise 2 weeks ago. We opted out of our week for next year, Last week in January, because we just got back. I had trouble finding dates within the next 2-3 months and near 7 months from now in July, didn't look much in between, however between that 7 and 11 month time window almost everything with the exception of a week or 2 in October was open.

One reason we went guaranteed even with the higher price is my wife has health problems and being someplace with a monorail makes our trips much easier. Right now our other home resort is AKL Kidani and it is just trouble for us, too spread out and if we don't get a seat on the bus, she ends up in pain all day. This way our favorite week, due to weather and business, is always guaranteed for us unless we opt out.

Just got back from a stay at VGF in a two bedroom standard view room. Amazing resort and I can't wait to go back again. Only complaint I have is its a pretty long walk to get to the monorail and main building. Other then that its a fantastic resort.

Went online today to book a lake view studio for Aug 2-4. It was available, as well as the standard view. Staying at VWL for the week prior in a 2 bdrm with extended family. When they leave, thought we would try out our new home for a couple of nights.
