Variety says Balthazar Getty has joined the cast of Disney's Ladder 49, directed by Jay Russell.
Getty will star opposite John Travolta, Joaquin Phoenix and Robert Patrick in the pic about a firefighter (Phoenix) who's trapped in a blaze and looks back on his life.
Getty will play a seasoned firefighter who is the best friend to the Phoenix character and risks his life to save him. Patrick plays a fireman who tries to save his comrade. Travolta will portray the fire chief who acts as a mentor to the Phoenix character.
