Getting songs off records into iTunes...

I want a song that cannot be purchased on iTunes or amazon, from an old album that never made its way to CD.

Some nice person played it and sent it to YouTube. You can hear the pops and cracks, like back in the day. (Funny how we never noticed them before CDs, lol.) is it possible to digitally lift music from YouTube?

If I buy a record (album, LP, vinyl, like back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth) on eBay and get it transferred to a CD, could I then load the songs into the iTunes from the CD?

I'd download it illegally if I could, but don't know how and doubt it would be available, anyway.

As far as direct from LP recording, I think you'll find this link useful (and detailed).

To snag music (and other things) from youtube, I find this site works well.

It says it isn't supported by keepvid, which is totally bogus.

I will order the album from eBay and go that route. Thanks!!

Google YouTube converter and some sites will pop up. Just copy and paste the YouTube link into the bar on the link and it should start downloading the song for you. Once completed, it should then pop up in your iTunes library.

You criminal!
I know. :( I was forever yelling at my son about doing that. I even told him I'd pay for the songs, but he still does it. I just don't like the idea of committing a crime.

But I can't get the song any other way. I'd happily pay for it, if they'd just put it on cd or iTunes!!

It is kind of important to me and I don't want my son involved with this particular download or I'd already have it.

What else do you do when you want a song nobody is selling?!

I'm becoming a criminal.

I can't stand the "unprofessional" look of illegally downloaded music. The album cover isn't there, the name of the song isn't correct (sometimes), the album title isn't there, the artist is spelled wrong. It's weird, but that's how I am!

I never downloaded illegal music and didn't know about that, lol.

If I could buy the thing, I would. And I will get the album from eBay and try to do it that way. In any event, I'll have the song, even if I have to buy an old stereo. :)

Like I said, getting my hands on this song is kind of important to me or I wouldn't even consider lifting it (or whatever it is called.)

Tell that one to the judge. ;)

Here's my rationalization, lol.

I'm not stealing it. It isn't like I've chosen to take it for free and deprived them of money I should have paid. They aren't selling it! And it isn't like I've taken anything away from anyone by having it.

I realize it might be illegal, but I'm okay with it from a morality standpoint. I think. I don't think I'll end up in hell on that account, anyway. :)

(This is probably how criminals think before they go to The Big House.)

I agree with you. There was one song a couple years ago that I wanted to buy on iTunes, but it was only available if you bought the entire album. So I would have to pay $10-15 for one song since I didn't like the others. There's no way I'd pay that much for one song.
