Getting extra bed at POR

I'm planning a trip to WDW next April, with my dad and younger sister. The thing is, we don't want to have to share a bed like last time (when we were a LOT younger).

I know that it is possible to get a Murphy bed in some of the rooms. But is there any way to request this without having to deal with the extra cost of a "Preferred Room"?

All of the rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort have the Murphy bed. There are both preferred and standard rooms in those buildings. When you call to make your reservation, have the CM note your Alligator Bayou request (there is not a way to do this if you book online yourself.)

Not sure about an extra bed but I do know that the Murphy beds they have are meant for children 9 and under I think it's a weight thing.

Murphy beds come out of a wall, trundle beds come out from under another bed. The trundles are for smaller people, think young teen or under. Roll away beds are separate twin beds they can bring to your room that fold out. They are an extra 10 a night last time I checked, years ago. You can ask for one as long as you are staying in a room that has no more than the allowed number of people staying. We got one once at All Star Sports when my daughter and I were there and had a friend from Florida come and visit for a night.

The murphy beds are just a little larger than a crib mattress. Not sure if that would work for you. Many of the resorts have done away with their roll-aways too. If they still have one you will have to request it at check in, you cannot book it ahead of time. You may want to bring an air mattress of some kind along for back up, just in case.

I would not call this a Murphy bed, and its not made for adults.

It's a glorified storage bench with a pull down "cushion" :p

Thanks for the info! I've looked up the measurements, and I could sleep on that (given that I sleep partially curled up anyway). The only question is, is there a weight limit?

If you squeeze onto the inner two thirds that sit directly on the bench, shouldn't be an issue, as the bench is made for sitting anyways, by anyone.

Child or not, if you can fit on there, I don't see how its comfortable enough for sleeping....
