Getting Around at Ft Wilderness

I'm going to be staying at Ft Wilderness for a night at the tail-end of my September trip. Is it easy to navigate walking there? I'm not going to rent a golf cart for one night (and I feel it would be a hassle with a stroller). I don't mind walking, I just don't want to get lost.

No, this is not a walkable location. The have internal bus routes to help.

Depending on your campsite and fitness it's walkable - but it'll take you 15-25 minutes to get where you want to go. Buses are a lot quicker and fairly easy to understand.

That doesn't bother me; we're just there for one night so there's just a few times we'd be walking anyways.

Cool. I really like walking around the campground. And if you really have time the nature trail to wilderness lodge is lovely (if it wasn't destroyed for the cabins)
Kind of hard with the stroller. Which is why I said it wasn't really walkable. I wouldn't want to be pushing a stroller down some of the roadways. They aren't very smooth in many places (last I saw 2 years ago) at least.

If it is a jogging stroller it would be fine but a regular one? I wouldn't want to do it. Sidewalks are obviously fine but not everywhere has them.

We were tent camping and were at Spanish moss lane I do believe. We walked most of the time. It is a long walk but if that doesn't bother you it's not hard to navigate. They also give you a map at check in you can use. I think it's beautiful there and seeing other people's set ups is cool.

The internal bus system is pretty good. We walk a lot when we stay there. It does depend on where you are staying and where you are going.
If you are in the cabins toward the front of the campground and want to go to the marina, that's around a mile. I'd wait for the bus in that case,
because it would be a lot faster. We try to stay in the center. That way it isn't too far of a walk to get to the different places.

The Nature Trail was closed when I was there in December, but the bike trail was really pretty.

Did you bring your own tent or rent everything? I'd really like to do tent camping there.

It's a jogging stroller so I'm not worried about the paths.
