Getting a Halloween ticket

I’ll be at Disney on Friday. It was kind of impromptu and we have tickets for the weekend, but if we stop my magic kingdom Friday morning can we ask about purchasing Halloween party tickets if some become available? Or is it something that has to be prepurchased no matter what.

Just curious 🙃

While it doesn’t hurt to ask, all September parties are sold out and there will be signs posted that say so.

I wouldn’t make a special trip to waste time standing in a long line at Guest Relations only to be disappointed. YMMV.

One year I went to the Halloween party not knowing that it could be sold out. I saw the sign saying the event is sold out. I went to a ticket window and said I didn't realize it would be sold out and asked if there was any way I could purchase tickets for the Halloween party, and they were able to accommodate me. This was in September of 2018 and my daughter was grade school age and it was only three of us. Not sure if they would do it if it was only my wife and I or if it was a large party.

Yea we’re going to be in the area anyway because we’re gona be resort hopping some, so I figured it didn’t hurt to ask 🙂. There’s 4 of us though haha. But im assuming I won’t be able to get em, and if by some miracle we do that’ll just be extra magic for the trip 😃.

Prior years, you MIGHT be able to purchase walk up with only the most popular days (e.g. 10/31) selling out. This year is the exception. Dates are selling out fast. There is pent up demand due to no party since 2019. The next available date is 9/29. All remaining available dates are in October.

See this post for the latest info.

We have had people post on here asking if there is a way to get a refund oe change the date on party tickets and were accommodated, so maybe some will be made available the day of the party.

You never know. A year ago, I purchased a Halloween After Hours ticket online several months in advance. I wasn't feeling well that night. I already had an ADR at Steakhouse 71 and kept it. Afterward, I walked to MK and asked for a refund right at the ticket window and got one then went back to my resort to rest. I don't know if a walkup got in with my refunded ticket. But refunds on the same day do happen. I'm testament to that.

can they be resold? IF so maybe someone who cant go now might be selling at cost.

If you go into MDE, you can "reassign" tickets. I have never tried this but you may be able to add someone else as a "Family and Friend" then reassign the ticket to that person. As for selling it, that would be behind the scenes between the two parties. Disney already has your money.

Yes, you can reassign tickets. I have done this many times.

Alas, the cast member was super nice and awesome, but no tickets meant no tickets haha. We’re just gonna rock HS instead 😁
