My wife's firm is having an 'after tax season' celebration dinner at Club 33. I'm excited! I've read up on it a little bit.

Wouldn't it be the coolest thing to be a member. Also, WDW should have something like this!

its actually a club...

Its actually a club, which doesn't advertise, and you need to be a member to get you in...so somehow the firm's partners are connected.

Membership dues are like $3000 a year and there is a 3 year waiting list apparently.

'The only place in Disneyland which serves alcohol'

ooh...aaah....

the food is very nice I hear.

The food is good, but it is more the atmosphere and the fact that you're in Club 33 that makes it special. I would say the food is on a par with, say, Blue Bayou from what I recall. It is cool to watch Fantasmic from the balcony, though the view isn't as good as the view from the Disney Gallery balcony. It is partially obstructed. You'll be amazed by how huge it is inside. That was the thing that impressed me the most because you would never guess that. But once you've been in there, you'll be able to walk around New Orleans Square and point out to your friends the parts of the upper floors that are actually Club 33. For example, there's a section where the building crosses over the street and that's actually part of Club 33. I always point that out to my friends. Also when you're inside, be sure and explore the club. There's a room where you can actually see the tiny microphones hidden in the chandelier above a table. That was intended for Walt to be able to listen in on conversations and then talk to people through an animatronic moosehead or something mounted on the wall. I can't recall if the moosehead is actually there or not. Also be sure and ask for a personalized matchbook. That's kind of cool too!

I'll be going again sometime this year as well. It's been quite a few years since I've been there so I'm looking forward to it.

Have fun!

Yeah, as a matter of fact, I think you're right. I think it IS a bird (where the heck did I get MOOSEHEAD from??). Anyway, it's cool. A lot of the furniture is from the Happiest Millionaire, if you ever saw that Disney flick.

Oh also, I don't know if they still do it this way, but when I went, you could show up at the park as early as you wanted and get your admission tickets. That was cool because I remember that our reservations were in the evening but we still showed up when the park opened and got our tickets. So we were able to enjoy the park all day before going to dinner. Getting in is cool, because you open up that little obscure brass door and press the intercom button and give them your name. Then they unlock the entrance for you.

Well, I've got an annual pass, so no doubt I'll look like a total looser to some of these people <annual pass? so when will he grow up?> (but hey, I'M retired, so I can afford the fun at 26).

If the food is Bayou quality, won't be too much to write home about, but a) I'm not paying for it and b) neither is my wife, so we feel fortunate.

Wow. I'm excited. Just a few days away.

Wow, Paul! Make sure to tell us how it goes! I've always wanted to go to Club 33 - there's so much history with Walt there! I'm jealous.....:animwink: :D

age limit...pictures?

I have not heard of an age limit. I've seen pictures of kids in Club 33

Well Shanen, I'll be sure to fill y'all in. My only question is, should I bring a camera, and take pictures? There are some great ones already on the web...but, personalized mementos would be nice.

Unless there is a rule against it, I say go for it. This is a great opportunity for some beautiful pictures. And who knows how long it will be until you go again. And to Shanen I love the Fantasia picture.

There is no age limit to go to club 33. I'm fourteen and my family was fortunate enough to get to go there for lunch. The bird in one of the pictures is the audioanimatronic bird that Walt used to talk to guests. There is also furniture from Mary Poppins. When I went their food was pretty good. Expecially desserts. Lunchtime is a buffet.
