Get me to Disney quick!!

I've got only one day at Disney next week, so this means I need to get there early for opening and stay till close. We're not staying on Disney property so we will be driving and parking at MK. The big question is.... Do we hop on the Monorail or Ferry? I'm looking for the quickest way to get to the entrance! On the way back we'll ride the other back to the vehicle for a little variety.

The monorail usually is much quicker. We usually take the ferry if we are not in a rush to enjoy the ride.

I took the monorail for rope drop and that was 7AM. Took the ferry back and that took much, much longer.

The monorail hours I posted above are for this month, so if you want to be at MK in time for rope drop, plan on the ferry

If park opening is listed as 9am - Why is the monorail not running until 9:30 ?
Surely the ferry can't handle all the guests arriving for park opening ? (or am I missing something here ?)

They are doing monorail maintenance. The News section on this site posted the schedule at the end of last month. You can search it.

I know about the maintenance - What I wasn't clear about was whether the ferry could handle all the guest traffic, are there buses running to MK as well ?

There are two ferry docks now to handle more guest traffic. I do not know if buses are running from the TTC. September is also a less busy month which is why it was chosen for the monorail maintenance.

Hope you have a good time. Just get there early and enjoy the ferry. If you have not been this time of year, I bet you will be surprised at the crowd levels, especially if you pick the right day.
