Please forgive me if this has been asked 100,000 times already; I promise I did look around and couldn't find much (feel free to steer me in the right direction if I missed something). I'm doing a one day trip, going to park hop, and am wondering if Genie+ would be worth it. If I'm not mistaken, it allows you to make time slot selections for some rides, but some of the bigger ticket items still may require an additional purchase if you wanna do lightning lane? Thanks for any advice/factoids you can give me.

Yes. As long as you are getting there early enough to get the most out of it.

For me, as someone who only goes to the parks once or twice a year, I personally think Genie+ is worth it whether you park hop or not. It will help you get on more attractions, especially the popular ones.

Here on the west coast, when you book a Lightning Lane, you can book your next one in 120 minutes or after you redeem the current one, whichever comes sooner. So if you book a LL at 10am for a 10:30am return time, you can book another one after redeeming at 10:30am. If you book a LL at 10am for a return time of 5pm, then you can't book your next one until 12pm, so plan accordingly. There will be times when the return time is within 5 to 10 minutes and is a shorter wait than the standby line. Also, keep watch on the really popular attractions like Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, RotR, Radiator Springs, etc. as they tend to book up quicker and before you know it return times will start getting later in the day.

There are only 3 attractions in the resort that require the Individual Lightning Lane (the one where you pay extra). Rise of the Resistance and Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway in Disneyland, and Radiator Springs Racers in California Adventure. Everything else is part of the normal $25 Genie+ price. I believe LL and ILL are independent of each other, so you can book them at the same time.

Also remember that Genie+ includes unlimited photopass downloads, so take advantage of the photographers and ride photos if you can.
