Complete waste of money tried booking at 7:01 am and got 1st ride at 10:45am. Booked 2nd ride at 12:45pm.

Watched a lot of people standing around aimlessly, unable to do anything

This is no longer the Disney Experience. Peoples tempers are short and everything is very expensive. Not getting your money’s worth anymore

Total agreement. Genie Plus and Lightning Lane are proof of the old adage “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Unable to do anything because they refused to do the standy-by queue? Even though we have no plans to purchase the the worthless genie, we would never just stand around waiting for our ride time. At least if you're standing in a queue waiting, you're going to eventually ride something. SMH

Yes, but....a 60 or 100 minute queue isn't very appealing, especially you are well versed in historic norms at WDW. I like the PeopleMover okay, but part of the appeal of the attraction is that historically the wait was very short.

If you don't have Genie+, currently (3/1 at 3pm) HS looks like this:
Aliens: 40
Lightning McQueen: 20
MMRR: 125
MF:85
Muppets 10
RRC 95
Slinky 120
ST:30
Rise: 120
TSM: 90
ToT: 130

Those are some pretty ugly wait times.

Another issue with lightning lane is the amount of disorganization. On Monday, the PotC LL line stretched to Frontierland.

That in itself would not be a problem, however, there were no stanchions, no ropes, not even a cast member with one of their football field marker things to direct traffic.

The result? An amorphous, vaguely snake-like blob of humanity holding up any and all foot traffic between Adventureland and Frontierland.
