Hey yall. Our original plan is to do dinner at Storybook on 12/4 as part of our 'rest' day. Was wondering if there was any 'must-do's' around the WL area during the holidays? I definitely want to check out WL a bit overall and see the decorations, but would love to hear if there is little things that we should do since we are in the area.

TIA!

You should watch the Geyser, which I think erupts every few minutes. And then go and watch the stream that rises in the lobby.

If you’re interested in trains &/or Walt memorabilia then go the Boulder Ridge building along the walkway from the front and visit the Carolwood Pacific room.

And then get some hot chocolate / coffee / whatever and something to eat and go upstairs. There are comfy chairs and seats overlooking the lobby, and where you can also see the top of the totem poles which are well worth a look.

There used to be a scavenger hunt for which the front desk had a sheet of clues, but I’m not sure if that’s still happening.

There was once a tour of the lobby conducted by a staff member from the front desk and the staff member explained just what you are looking at, the design on the floor (unfortunately mostly covered up with the Christmas decorations and moved furniture to make room for the tree). The symbols on the totems and how they were made. There is a sheet available that explains the totem poles carvings at the front desk. The trains in the Boulder Ridge lobby area are quite nice to see and the pictures that accompany them.

It is cool to sit in the rockers in the lobby, very peaceful and fun to watch people come and go. Dont forget Geyser Point for a decent meal out by the lake and the quiet pool is a fine way to relax and sip a cool drink. Enjoy!
