Gender for guests

I posted a similar question a while ago about changing the names on a reservation to reflect my brothers' gender identity. They are both transgender and I made the reservation under their legal girl names at the time. They have changed their names since then to their preferred, male names. I called guest services and got their names changed on the reservation...but I just now realized that I forgot to mention their gender marker on their IDs has changed as well (F to M). Do I need to give Disney another ring? or does does it matter?

I'd call Disney. I'm not sure if CMs at park entrances or hotel check-in take any note of such a thing as a disconnect between the apparent gender of a guest and the listed one, but just to be safe and save your brothers any potentially embarrassing or personal questions, I'd change the reservations to match their current gender.

What does their gender on their ID say? Id make sure the ID gender matches the reservation, also the names on the ID should be the one on the reservation, I have friends where Disney kept the ID name and gender on the reservation but put in his girl name as a nickname.

Ive noticed Disney tends to be very helpful and understanding in these issues, now the airlines, that's whole other situation, if you are flying be ready for some non understanding and a whole bunch of 'none of your business" questions.

Just wanted to update in case anyone else has a similar situation: I called Disney and they were very helpful and assured me that as long as the names on the reservation and their government IDs correspond we'll have no problems checking in. They just told me to change the title of their names on My Disney Experience from 'Ms' to 'Mr' if I desired. thank you both for your input!
