Gas Prices

I was watching news this past Sunday evening and they had a brief report on current gas prices around the nation, mostly NY and Cali areas if I remember right, with prices said to be $2.30 to $2.80 per gallon. The reporter said in NY, many people were travelling to NJ to get gas at about $2.30/gal, but paying $6 toll also (didn't really say if this was one way or round trip). They said the NJ price was some of the lowest in the country. When I heard that I nearly choked! Here in Brunswick that day, our lowest local price was $2.02, and today it's down to $1.97.

Anyway I was thinking, what if we kept a running list of gas prices for those of us who drive to WDW. Keep it especially around the main interstates on the way to Florida (like I95, I75, I10, I4, and others as seen fit).

I'll start it off - see next post.

Try to keep a similar format, and add or edit new information, sorted in a relatively North/South order. Any suggestions welcome.

I95 GA exit 29, Brunswick $1.98/gal Pilot, Philips 66, Conoco (5/4/05)

I think the person above me means
www.gasbuddy.com

That link (in the post above me) comes up "unable to find".

And I'm from NJ, and I'll agree with the almost 2.30 a gallon.
I found a station (by freak accident) yesterday at 1.99 a gallon. I zoomed up and got some before they hiked it up.

I-95 around Savannah its around 2.00 to 2.15. Go down I-95 closer to FL and it will stay around the same.

I know last week at the Hess across from Pleasure Island and all of Downtown Disney, gas was $2.14 and by my house (Universal area) it was $2.19... now it's $2.15 here so I imagine it's $2.10 or so on Disney property, which is suprising...

The $6 toll is r/t, but that is without e-zpass discount at non-peak times which is $4 r/t. I always buy my gas in NJ, I'm over there all the time anyway and last time it was $2.06.

I'm about to leave for the summer to Disney to work, and it will be my first time with a car. Since I'm taking the auto train, I won't have to get gas a lot. Since my car a little more than 3/4 full, I'm debating about whether to fill up here (in nothern Virginia, where gas is $2.25) or Florida. Can anyone tell me what the gas prices are ON WDW property and at the gas station right by Vista Way apartments (There's a Wendy's and a Chic-Fil-A next to it)?

The BP and Chevron closest to Vista Way are normally above the market price. Hess on property is usually a good value.

The train drops you in Sanford, and gas is probably cheaper up there anyway.

Besides, the difference on a full tank would probably be less than $1 regardless of where you go.

Thanks for the advice, Speck. I never thought that it might be cheaper to do that, but now that you mention it, it makes a lot of sense!

Be thankful you don't have to get gas in the UK. We buy our gas in litres.

1 Litre = 3.8Ltrs
Gas over here is roughly 85pence per Litre
85 x 3.8 = £3.23 per Gallon
Using an average exchange rate of £1.00 = $1.75:
$5.65 per gallon in the UK

I paid $1.99 per gallon at BJ's Wholesale in Orlando yesterday....most area stations are about $2.18

Lol so did I.. The one off Conroy Road. I'm always suprised by how cheap the Hess station's on property is. The last few times I went (but not yesterday), they were charging the same price as BJ's. Yesterday I think the Hess was $2.00.
