Galveston to Dallas (slightly off topic)

Would be my first time in Texas, thinking of following up a Wonder cruise with a visit to some good friends who moved to Dallas last Christmas. How bad a drive is this? Anything interesting between the two?

Thanks in advance.

Its about 5 hours. Depending on your driving style. :)

The Texas prison museum is in Huntsville as is the Sam Houston statue and museum. Thats about all the remotely interesting I can think of off hand.

Thanks! 5 hours seems doable. Would actually like to see the Sam Houston statue (just based on the name).

BB35. USS Texas. Easily worth an hour or two. On the east side of Houston. Right next to the San Jacinto monument (which is like a given for anyone who is a Texan).
