Future Universal Visit, WHEN????

I have not been down to Universal since the year they were just starting to build Harry Potter. The wife and I are planning to go back to Disney, we always get down early and wind up going to Universal for a day or two before our Disney vacation starts. When will the best time for us to go far as seeing a completely new Universal and a ton of new attractions. Would it be good to go in 2014 or wait another year. Please understand that we have been taking care of an elderly Mom in our home for the past few years and had to move her into a nursing home due to the care she needs we can no longer provide or afford since it has gone almost 7 X 24 hour care. The wife and I are tired and need to recharge and relax. It's our time and I want to do it right. We love Disney and every time we went to Uni we had a blast and never a dull time. Any suggestions for the best year to take it all in and just enjoy the parks and see the most attractions.

Someone else can correct me but I think the HP expansion is expected to be completed sometime in the spring of 2014. I'd wait until then, and maybe a while after that if the crowds are crazy like with HP1.

If you can wait until Holiday 2015 or at least Summer 2015, I would. Mind you the only reason I say that is it appears you only go every 6-7 years. I would also recommend going to Universal after your Disney trip, you'll see...

I would suggest late September or October (in whichever year you choose) so you can attend Halloween Horror Nights. I went last year and loved it.

Fall of 2014 seems like a good time if the HP expansion is completed on time. Wish I could get there then!
