My husband and I took our whole fam - 4 daughters, 3 sons-in-law, and two baby grandsons (14&15 mos), 9/11-9/17. Lightest crowds?? Yikes, what must heavy crowds be like? MK was mobbed. The temps were tough, low to mid 90s all week but we knew this going in. The other parks weren’t quite as crowded but I was still surprised to see SO many families with school age kids as the school year had just started! All in all we had a pretty good time, albeit the extra expenses we hadn’t planned on. Our TA said we’d likely not need Genie+ because of “lightest crowds” but that turned out to not be true. And honestly, I simply couldn’t believe what they were charging for things - it’s truly obscene. The sad end to our trip is that every.single.one of us contracted COVID. Fortunately it didn’t start until the morning we left. Didn’t know it was COVID at that point but by the next day when we arrived home, we started dropping like flies. This is 11 people including two babies. My husband and I (in our 60s) are SO sick and currently on Paxlovid. One daughter who is pregnant in her first trimester is terribly sick with high fever and cough. All the rest are miserable - it’s pretty dreadful. We are all vaxxed and boosted. I cannot even imagine if we weren’t. Anyway, basically the Disney parks are Petri dishes for COVID and if you’re going, plan on COVID being the chaser to your vacation. Hopefully you won’t come down with it mid-trip.
