Let's share some fun ideas for how to stay busy if you're home with the kids or even just saying home to play it safe!

For kids who know how to use a phone...give child a phone and tell them to go hide and take a picture of their hiding spot once they're hidden. Child then sends photo to mom/dad/sibling who uses the pic to try to find them.

Is it bad if I text them back 2 hours later saying I still can’t find them?

I’m going to try these:

my wife is getting the dreaded “im bored“ from my younger daughter.

There was a time when kids were allowed to draw chalk art in front of Prime Time and Hollywood and Vine at DHS. Get some colored chalk and have a chalk party on your sidewalk then give the kids a mission to clean it up with water.

My kids are a bit older and should be getting some lessons and what not from school beginning tomorrow. Still, I'm not certain how all of that is going to go, so I'm hoping to enlist the help of my parents (retired) to do some lessons by FaceTime while I'm working. My mom taught science, health, and PE and my dad was an engineer who also has additional degrees in meteorology, so I think the kids could learn some things they wouldn't ordinarily learn at school. While it's not in person, that visual face to face interaction during all of this distancing could be psychologically helpful as well. I'm sure many of us have friends and family who could share all kinds of fun info to help enrich our kids' lives while outside of the traditional classroom.
