Fun Things at the Beach Club

Well, for one thing there is the pool, Stormalong Bay. But I think the funnest thing to do would be to go to Beaches and Cream and get the "Kitchen Sink". It's always fun to walk over to the Boardwalk and look around there. You will also have a great view of Illuminations from Epcot. Other than that, I can't think of anything...are you looking for fun for you or for children?

In addition to Stormalong Bay (which is phenomenal) there are hot tubs and quiet pools scattered around. Walk over to BoardWalk, rent a surrey, rent a boat, they have nightclubs there, excellent restaurants. You can see the fireworks from Epcot from any of these resorts. You can play tennis too, or volleyball. Mini golf is also very, very close, just a short walk.

You will have plenty of fun things to do when you are not at a park. And some of the most fun things may be relaxing in a hammock or on a lounge chair or taking a dip in the pool. No worries, there are a whole bunch of things to do, a great assortment at a really great place!!:sohappy:

The Beach Club resort has the BEST location on Disney property. You are withing walking distance of two theme parks, an entire entertainment complex (The Boardwalk), miniature golf, some of WDW's best restaurants (EPCOT world showcase and the Boardwalk). Plus, Beach Club has the BEST pool on Disney property--it is like a minature water park. In addition, you have access to your own (small) beach and also there is a complete water marina for your use.

What more could you want?:D

I second that! I only wish I could have gotten a room there for April instead of Contemp!! You will have a blast. The best is in the morning when you are on your balcony and the whole boardwalk is just waking up. It's so peaceful. Get breakfast at the Bakery! Oh and you enter Epcot through World Showcase so you get to walk through when it's not open!! I love, love, love Beachclub!!:sohappy:

So right! I agree 100%. There is tons to do, (Besides the parks that you are close to 2 of them and not that far from DTD.) We like dancing at Atlantic Dance, but I think it is more DJ music not instead of swing like it once was. Also Jelly Rolls Piano Bar is fun (not to mention the many restants around!) You can rent one of the surray bikes, there are many planned activies for the kids and just hanging out is the best.

The question isn't what is there to do, but what isn't there? We adore BC, I think it has it all.

I stayed at the Beach Club Villas in August 2003. It is so great. The pools, the boardwalk, and it is a VERY short walk to the back entrance to Epcot. The designs and architecuture of the building is phenomenal, and there are even mickey mouse eblems designed in the carpet in the halls!

For a family (two kids under 9) how would the Beach Club compare to the Carribean Beach? I have heard of people who, after calling weekly to the booking agent, have been able to get an upgrade from a moderate hotel to a deluxe at minimal cost. I was looking into this except for the fact that I've read that the Carribean is a family favorite. How is access to the parks from the Carribean versus the Beach Club?

JBSLJames, I don't think they compare at all. I may be biased because as far as mod resorts go, CB was our least fav (behind PO RS and CS.) It was cold the year we stayed at CB so maybe that colored our opinon. Also Y&B and BCV is our very favorite resort of all WDW resorts.

One thing people might consider a drawback is Y&B does not have a food court. They do have "fast food" at the pool and a small dinner called Beaches and Cream (our favorite.) they also have sit down restants, a all you can eat breakfast with Goffy and minnie and all the restants at the boardwalk are close by (S&D too) Not to mention walking distance to World Showcase.

The pool at CB is nice, but it is just a pool, with a kind of cool hot tub. SAB (storm along bay) at Y&B really is a mini water park with 3 pools, 3 hot tubs and a sand bottom pool. It has a great water slide for older kids over 4 or 5 years old.

Don't get me wrong CB is nice, if you stay there you will enjoy it. But Y&B is wonderful. Once you stay there, it is hard to go back to a mod resort. (you may find yourself looking into getting DVC, but BCV is sold out, however you can stay there with any home resort, ours is VWL) Also a Deluxe resort will have less walking then a mod resort and most of it will be inside the hall ways (unlike going from the different buildings at a mod resort.)

Bus transport to MK, AK, DTD and water parks will be the same as CB. You can walk to Epcot, and a short bus ride to MGM from BC.
