can anyone explain to me the difference between a full hookup campsite & a partial hookup camsite? and is it better to get a prefered site rather than a non prefered one? thanks so much!

It's been quite a while since I've been camping in a tent or RV.

Full hookups include water, sewer, and electricity I do believe. Partial probally has just water and electricity.

If you're taking a tent or RV, I would get a full hookup.

I don't know about the preferred/non-preferred.

All depends on what your bringing.

If you have an RV or a 20+ FT trailer, you want a full-hook up site.

If you have a tent-trailer or a tent you can do on a partial.

A preferred site are those in like loops 100, 200 and 300. If your not going to rent a golf cart(or don't bring bikes), then I recommend you get a site in one of these loops because they are very close to Pioneer Hall, Settlement Trading Post and the dock of course.

If you do rent a golf cart, and I definately recommend that you do, get a loop near the Meadow Trading Post.

I've never heard about the phone line at a campsite? They have pay-phones at every comfort station and both trading posts.

The Cable hook-up is available on the preferred camp sites.

RENTHEAD7,

THE FULL INCLUDES SEWER HOOKUP, THE PARTIAL HAS ELEC., WATER. THE PREFERRED SITES ARE CLOSE TO THE TRADING POSTS,ETC, BUT COST A LITTLE MORE. DEPENDING ON THE TIME OF YEAR AND HOW CROWDED YOU CAN CHECK THE DIFFERENT SITES OUT AND UPGRADE IF AVAILABLE AT THE TIME. AT LEAST WE DID , BUT THAT WAS IN OCT, WHICH WASN'T THAT BUSY.

phones!?!

we have gone to fort wilderness every year (cept this year...) and there is no *site* phone service.. we have asked about it many years.. and the answer is always "no, but we do have pay phone and guest services phones at every comfort station" i would totally reccomen loop 1100 (Possum Path) its close to the playground, meadow trading post, and meadow swimmin hole (arcarde..campfire/movie program, snack bar...) + you have both bus and boat service...!!i hope you pick here!!
