It was leaked by the composer (At least a rough version not the final studio version) Of what the opening song from frozen is going to sound like. And let me just say I am highly impressed. Even though this movie is not based in norway they are still sticking to making the entire look feel and sound seem Norwegians and apparently have bits and pieces of the indigenous Saammi thrown in there too.

Talk about awesome, give the film a real presence in the opening number and really gives a sense of seriousness! The song itself is a combination of Saami yoiking and Danish Christmas hymns. A real cool opening that's for sure.

Frozen is no Snow Queen. It's just a frigid Tangled with two- count 'em, two! - Princesses to merchandise!!!! :p
The artstyle may be the same, but as far as music and story its a different beast entirely. I wouldn't write it off as just a tangled movie with 2 princesses.

This can not be the opening song... Its just two Norwegian songs mixed together. Dont think they will buy copyrights for that Norwegian christmas song.... The song is "Deilig er jorden"/"Fairest Lord Jesus"...
And yes, Frozen is set to be in Norway now. It was a Scandinavia theme to it first, but after the filmcrew spent some study time in Norway they put a lot of buildings, sami, trolls, bunads etc into the movie. So guess we can say its based in Norway now.

How old are the songs? Could they be public domain now?

Now There has been an update "It turns out that only parts of “Eatnemen Vuelie” will be used in the final version of the film. This news was revealed in an audio interview by the conductor of the choir, Cantus, which are the featured singers in the song. Specifically, the hymn parts of the song will be removed, since they do not fit the context of the film. New music has been composed by Frode Fjellheim, but it will be based on the same themes."

They need something to integrate into the Norway pavilion at EPCOT.

Next will be a Canadian based movie. :P

Like this movie was crafted to do that, the film will have trolls, snow, Norwegian influences in sound and culture and landscaping.
