watched several videos of the attraction today and am still just blown away by the animatronics being used! Truly impressive!! The AA's are the biggest aspect compelling me to ride it when I go in Sept. Would love to hear everyone's thoughts on them. Is this the level all future AA's will be heading?

Skating AND walking!

And yes between this tech and the avatar tech and miniaturization that's happening in general there's been huge advances in AA's in the last decade and it looks like it's not stopping soon.

Just me, all personal opinion - also saw the video. I think I saw AA's that were OUTSTANDING. Contrast this with the infamous "Disco Arial" AA at MK's Little Mermaid. (Yes, I know they turned the Disco Ball off.... I still know it is there :)). Perhaps someone got the message about producing AA's the way they did in the OLD Days :).

I haven't actually ridden the new Little mermaid attraction but just watched a ride thru today, so surprised with the different in quality of AA's... Im curious why Frozen was given such better treatment...

New technology and techniques.

It's not like the animatronics on mermaid are bad, though, and they certainly didn't cheap-out on the main figures, with the Scuttles being especially expressive, using relatively old techniques. Ursula's arm movements were a bit of a new high at the time. The new Elsa figure combines the articulation of those arms with a high-def projected face, to good effect.
