are there water fountains around?

i heard you can go to a QC location to get a free glass of water, but I assume that involves standing in line and such...

any other places to get a quick "free" glass of water?

I know this isn't exactly what you asked for, but I always bring my Camelback backpack and fill it before I head to the parks. If I run out, I just full from a bathroom sink. I obviously have no problems drinking tap water, so this works for me.

Yep. I myself fill up 3 Nalgene bottles the night before. Two go into the freezer, one in the fridge. They're a bit on the heavy side, but you'll have cold water for hours. :)

Yes

Yes (yes)

If you want a cup of ice water, wherever the short lines are.

We take 2-3 bottles of water into the park with us. I'm not a fan of public drinking fountains. When we eat, ask for a free cup of water. We also bring those undividual kool aid packs or similar if we're sick of water or need a sugar boost.

I recommend the Sunshine Seasons water, it is free and filtered water. Very good. Last time I was there you serve yourself, too. The drinking fountains have the infamous Orlando water aftertaste.

Depending on where you're from, the Central Florida tap water is awful. All of the restaurant water is filtered (to varying levels of success), and I usually go that route because 1) I don't feel like carrying bottles around all day, 2) you get ice, and 3) there's always SOMEWHERE without a line.

I will confirm by many many many (I'm a cheapo) experiences that any place that serves fountain drinks will give you a full size cup of ice and water upon request. I've tried it everywhere just this week. Rarely bought any drinks. Ive asked for one cup to 5 cups and the CMs didn't bat an eye. Just remember your please and thank yous ;)

After about 40 years of visiting, last year was the first time I ever tried this. Felt a bit strange at first, almost cheeky you could say. However the amount of liquids I take in and the fact that too many cokes don't help means I'll be doing this every visit at some stage. Even Starbucks (?) in Epcot provided me with free ice water upon request once I'd finished raiding club cool for tastier stuff.

What was suggested to me by an avid WDW visitor was that we should bring kool-aid single water flavoring packs to put in the free waters, especially for the kids... you can buy water flavoring singles at any store and they are relatively inexpensive
